Asus launched the Zenbook UX305 laptop in India on Thursday. The device falls in the category of ultra slim laptops, capable of delivering maximum power. Ultrabooks are very portable and the Zenbook weighing in at only 1.2 kgs with a thickness of 12.3mm makes it one of the most convenient laptops available in the market.

The Zenbook UX305 is powered by Intel Core M-5Y10 Processor with 4GB RAM and integrated Intel HD Graphics 5300. The screen is a 13.3 inch LED-backlit display with an FHD resolution of 1920x1080p. The storage capacity is 256GB SSD SATA3.

As far as connectivity goes, the UX305 has three USB 3.0 ports with one port supporting Asus Charger+ technology for quick recharging of mobile devices. The machine has a Micro-HDMI v1.4 port, a headphone and audio-in combo jack and an SDXC card reader slot. A USB-to-Ethernet adapter comes bundled as it does not have an Ethernet port. A 3-cell Li-ion Polymer battery powers the laptop.

The machine comes with Smart Gesture support along with the Asus SonicMaster audio, ICEpower and Bang & Olufsen technology for enhanced sound experience.

The company states that the laptop’s thermal management design and IceCool technology will keep it from reaching high temperatures during heavy usage. The feature sounds convincing on paper, but ultrabooks tend to overheat easily if put to resource-demanding tasks. The laptop houses a fanless processor for which such technology needs to be incorporated.

Peter Chang, Region Head – South Asia & Country Manager said, “Today’s introduction of our latest Asus Zenbook is our step ahead to make the incredible available for the Indian masses. Being the pioneers of bringing ultrabooks in the country, we comprehend the market for Ultrabooks here and have timely introduced various variants to cater to the demand. Zenbook UX305 is one of our elite ranges of products and will further enhance our Ultrabook Series and quality offerings for our existing and prospective customers.”

The company claims that it is the “world’s slimmest 13.3-inch QHD+ ultraportable laptop.” But Asus has not brought the QHD+ (3200×1800) display variant to India. The price of the laptop starts at Rs. 49,999 and will be made available for sale on Flipkart and Asus exclusive stores from Friday onwards.
