Lenovo S60 Launched in India, Priced at Rs 12,999
Lenovo is constantly trying to carve a niche in the mid segment smartphone market in India. The latest in the offering is the Lenovo S60. The company launched the smartphone today and it will be available for purchase online.
The Lenovo S60 has a 5-inch HD IPS display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 2GB RAM. The internal storage is 8GB and can be expanded upto 32GB via a microSD card. The primary camera is a 13MP auto-focus with LED flash and the secondary camera is a fixed focus 5MP shooter. The camera also includes features such as scene detection, face recognition, low light enhancement, Panorama, geo-tagging, burst shot, smile shot and HDR.
The S60 runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Lenovo’s Vibe UI skin which is expected to be upgraded to Vibe 3.0 UI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop in the coming months. The dual SIM phone has bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE. The company claims a talk time of up to 16.5 hours and standby time of up to 10 days on 3G networks.

This new mid-range smartphone from its S-Series family is 7.7 mm thick, weighs in at 125 grams and is available in graphite grey colour. The S60 comes equipped with accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and a magnetometer.
The unique selling feature for the S60 would be its 4G LTE compatibility which makes it future ready. The specs are impressive for the price it is offered at. However, it will interesting to see how the S60 fares with some new entrants in the mid segment smartphone market such as Xiaomi Mi 4i and Asus Zenfone 2.
The phone is available on Lenovo’s official store thedostore, and also on the e-commerce portals such as Flipkart and Amazon starting today. Those who would want to hold the phone and see what it feels like, will have to wait as it will soon be available in all leading retail outlets.
