Google’s Street View for local mapping is perhaps the closest we can come to Prometheus’ Real Time Orb gadgets. Google Street View has an armada of cars that drive by on public roadways in order to capture panoramic shots of the street.This is just like the movie, when they throw some floating orbs that go through hallways and rooms to record a holographic map. The Street View project has also reportedly mapped the interiors of a building in Las Vegas. What more can you ask for from technology ?
