TAG Heuer Connected Modular to Launch in Mid-March
Come mid-March and TAG Heuer will have another smartwatch to its credit. The successor to TAG Connected, expected to be coined as TAG Connected Modular, was scheduled for a release in May 2017. However, recent reports suggest that the new inclusion in the TAG wearable family will be launched on 14th March, 2017.
The TAG Connected Modular is expected to have a string of unique features. For instance, the Android Wear 2.0 is expected to have customizable lugs and a wide range of interchangeable straps to choose from. What’s more, the wearable will also be able to make a switch between its digital and analog face.
If we go by the success of its predecessor, the Connected Modular will have high expectations in terms of sale. The TAG Connected sold a lot more than the expected 20,000 units in its initial sale – 56,000 units to be precise. The style ranges and choice of straps seem to be TAG’s strategy to walk along the lines of the traditional watch, and go beyond. The TAG Connected Modular is also anticipated to have an in-built GPS and NFC for mobile payments. The watch is expected to sport a classy look, so it would compliment your gym suit as well as your evening dress. With the Connected Modular, TAG Heuer has played to its strength by amalgamating style and technology.
It has not yet been revealed what the product will be priced at. However, looking at the price of the TAG Connected (a whopping $1,500) and given that it is, in fact, a smartwatch, the Connected Modular is likely to be priced on the higher end.
