Snapchat Spectacles Now Available Online in the US
Snapchat Spectacles, which have been playing hard to get for a while now, are finally available online. The sunglasses by Snap are available for sale online in the United States.
Snapchat Spectacles are a pair of connected glasses that have an in-built camera. The camera lets you record video snippets that automatically get saved to your Snapchat Memories. The Snapchat Spectacles are fitted with a camera that has a 115-degree lens for capturing videos. The whole idea of setting up sunglasses with a camera is to imitate how humans actually see.
If you want to record a video, all you have to do is tap on the top left-hand corner of the glasses. And bam! It starts recording. The camera automatically stops recording after 10 seconds. However, in case you want to shoot a longer video, you can add another 10 seconds by tapping again. The Snapchat Spectacles allows you to record a video of upto 30 seconds at a time. The user can see an inward-facing light while shooting and people in the user’s field of view can see an outward-facing light which shows that the user is recording. Android users can transfer snaps using Wi-Fi, whereas iPhone users will have to transfer the snaps either via the sunglasses’ Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
The smart specs are available for sale on Spectacles.com, priced at $129. Currently, the number of purchases has been restricted to six per household, when ordering online. The site states that the uber cool Spectacles will be delivered within a time frame of two to four weeks. Though the “Snapbot” vending machine will still function across states, the online sale will surely boost the sales by a large margin. Going forward, the “snapbot” vending machines will show up at “surprise” locations, the latest location being inside a pop-up shop near Central Park, Manhattan.
