Xiaomi Mi 5c

The latest phone from Xiaomi, the Mi 5c was launched today in China. The latest revision to last year’s Mi 4c, runs on the company’s new in-house SoC, the Xiaomi Surge S1 which has an octa-core processor and a Mali T860MP4 GPU. Xiaomi claims that the Surge S1 chipset would improve the camera light sensitivity by about 150 percent. For the other specifications,  the Xiaomi Mi 5c has a 5.15 inch IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1080 px. The new slim design of the Mi 5c consists of a 7.09mm thick metal unibody frame. The below image shows the two gold colour variants, but the phone will also be available in a matte-ish Black variant in a limited run.

The Xiaomi Mi 5c has 3 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage. The downside of the Mi 5c is that it does not support storage expandability, hence ,it does not have a microSD card slot. This new Mi smartphone has a 12 MP primary camera with a 1.25-micron pixel size, PDAF and LED flash. On the other hand, the front-facing shooter has an 8 MP sensor with a 27mm wide-angle lens. The battery in the Mi 5c is a 2860 mAh non removable battery which supports fast-battery charging.

The Xiaomi Mi 5c, which will be available in China from March 3, has been launched for a price of  CNY 1,499 which roughly amounts to INR 14,600. The Mi 5c has been launched in three colors: Black, Gold and Rose Gold. The company will launch the phone in India later in the year, with availability possibly during the Summer of 2017.
