No, the OnePlus 5 Will Not Have a Ceramic Body
A plethora of rumors are doing rounds claiming that the OnePlus 5 will have a ceramic body. However, the rumor is, in fact, just a rumor and has no credibility. Not only because it doesn’t make sense, but also because sources close to iGyaan have confirmed that the OnePlus 5 will not have a ceramic-construct.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus is designing the OnePlus 5 with a metal and glass design, possibly like the LG G6. The smartphone, just like its predecessors, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, is expected to pack 6GB of RAM. However, the OnePlus 5 may also include a higher-end variant with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage (though unlikely). OnePlus might up its game in terms of internal storage and may carry 256 GB of internal storage. Like its previous variants, the OnePlus 5 is expected to stay away from the inclusion of storage expandability.
The OnePlus 3T, which was launched in November last year, is presently priced at Rs. 29,999 in India. The phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset with a quad-core processor and Adreno 530 GPU. The OnePlus 5, however, is expected to operate on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. OnePlus 5 will most likely be launched with a larger screen on the same footprint with a 5.7-inch 2K display. The successor of the OnePlus 3T will possibly have a larger battery and will support Dash Charging.
The OnePlus 5 is expected to have a dual rear camera setup with improved photographic capabilities. OnePlus will most likely base its marketing focus around the photographic capabilities of the OnePlus 5 when it launches later this year. Stay tuned for more updates.
