Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Launch Expected in Second Half of 2017
A Chinese analyst on the Chinese microblogging website, Weibo, claimed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will be launched sometime in the second half of 2017. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is expected to be the successor of Xiaomi’s Mi Mix smartphone, which was launched in October last year.
The post by the Chinese analyst, Pan Jiutang, also revealed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will be equipped with the in-display fingerprint sensor. Philippe Starck, the French designer who also designed the Mi Mix, will design the Mi Mix 2 as well. Speculations suggest that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will not feature any physical buttons, which will be the first of its kind from the Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix, which was launched last year, runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset with a quad-core processor and Adreno 530 GPU. The Mi Mix has a 6.4″ edgeless IPS LCD display with a 2048 x 1080 px resolution and a claimed 91.3% screen-to-body ratio. The Xiaomi Mi Mix’s back is a metal frame with a ceramic outer shell. The phone is available in two variants in the market: one with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal memory and the other with 6GB RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. The Mi Mix is powered by a 4400 mAh battery. You can check the Xiaomi Mi Mix here.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is expected to be launched with a screen-to-body ratio higher than its predecessor, the Mi Mix. If rumors are to be believed, the Mi Mix 2 might be available in the similar price bracket as the Xiaomi Mi Mix.
