Major Galaxy S8 Feature Confirmed Accidentally by Samsung
The Samsung Galaxy S8 duo have become favorites of the tell-tale experts. A recent leak had hinted at Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus featuring the Bixby Assistant along with the out-of-the-box Google Assistant. This rumor has just been confirmed by Samsung – accidentally!
The presence of the virtual assistant in the Galaxy S8 was confirmed in a local privacy page of Samsung Italy. Though rumors about the Bixby Assistant continue to pop up every now and then, this is the first time Samsung has mentioned it in its documentation.
The Bixby was mentioned on Samsung Italy’s privacy page.
When translated, the paragraph (with Bixby mentioned in it) in the picture above reads,
Depending on your model and region, you will be able to tell your Mobile Device to activate certain functions, such as playing songs from a playlist or looking up for something on the web using S Voice. In addition to that, you will be able to control all the operations made with the touch interface using voice commands with Bixby.
The paragraph suggests that Bixby and S Voice will both feature in the Galaxy S8 smartphone. However, if rumors about Google Assistant’s inclusion are to be believed, then it will probably be a muddle for users. The paragraph also hints that the Bixby assistant will be able to control everything that we need the touch-interface for, via voice recognition. If that is so, the Bixby assistant will have an edge over other virtual assistants. However, this will be a matter of high rise or deep down in the ground for the virtual assistant.
While the possibility of three virtual assistants on a single smartphone is mind-boggling (technically and otherwise!), we will only know what’s in store when the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are launched (on March 29). The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are expected to go on sale by April 28.
