Autogyaan: The 2012 Honda City
Honda is all-set to launch the 2012 model of its popular and best selling car ‘City’ in India. The Honda City, which has been enjoying the limelight in the Indian market as the most successful sedan for the last 13 years, is now being challenged by the likes of the Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta and the newly launched Skoda Rapid.
It was reported that the Indian market would get the new City in November 2011. However, the Japanese automaker has now advanced the launch of the new Honda City to mid-December. The delay was accredited to the shortage of components which Honda procures from Thailand, which was hampered because of the floods which disrupted production.

Another nice touch is the iPod compatible USB connector, now you can control your iPod via the car’s audio system. But the main feature which is missing in Honda City is climate control system which is very shocking as climate control is available in many premium hatchbacks. The new design also comes with adjustable Honda steering wheel.
The 2012 model of Honda City features same engine and transmission like the last generation model. It is powered by 1497cc petrol engine which generates maximum power of 118 bhp at 6600 rpm with 146 nm at 4800 rpm.
