Samsung launches Galaxy Tab 2 311 running on Android Jelly Bean for Rs.13,900
Samsung India has launched the Wi-Fi only variant of the Galaxy Tab 2 in India- the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 at a price of Rs.13,900. The tablet is available online via Samsung’s online store as well as via eBay.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 shares the same specifications as the Galaxy Tab 2 310, expect the 3G support as the tablet doesn’t have a SIM card slot.
The tablet sports a 7-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Running on Android Jelly Bean, the tablet comes with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a micr0-SD card.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 houses a 3 megapixel camera at the back along with a VGA camera at the front, which can be used for video calling. For connectivity, the tablet gets Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Launched 9 months after it’s 3G enabled variant was rolled out in the market, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 doesn’t offer anything spectacular and moreover, many Indian manufacturers are now offering tablets with similar specifications at half the price at which the Galaxy Tab 2 retails. The recently launched Lava-E tab Xtron offers almost similar specifications and costs just Rs. 6,499. Also, at just a couple of grands more, you can get your hands on the 10-inch Wammy Magnum from WickedLeak or the Auxus Core X4 3G tablet from iBerry, both of which are powered by a quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM.
