SandeepBali1 sony xperia wont get more than 2 updates in best case.... it'll sureky updated to 4.2 but after that its all doubtfull because if google releases 5.0 instead of 4.3 which would be complete overhall like it was with 4.0 then sony mght not update it futher..

Siddharth Jain The Samsung Nexus S got JB 4.1.2 officially and it was launched in 2010, so I'm pretty sure that the LG Nexus 4 will receive Android 5.0 update. The Nexus S received 4.2.2 through custom ROM's based upon AOSP, AOKP, PAC, etc.

Siddharth Jain until unless there is complete overhall of android and the os is re written... it will get aatleast 2 updates from now i mean 4.3 and 5.0

I shifted to Nexus 4 from iPhone 4s n I could say this that even the glass back of the 4s had the same problem of getting heated, does it stopped being less coveted by the iPhone users, no I guess, same is with the Nexus 4. I have seen the Samsung GS2 getting heated, HTC One X n One X + have similar issues, but the heating in Nexus 4 is bearable and only takes place if you play high def games or else none I would say , cheers !

Subham S

vegetto12 I think this issue cannot be solved because of glass back which is fully sealed and heat cannot escape, this is the same problem with LG Optimus G.

Wolfee
Wolfee

vegetto12  There is no fix for this. The whole body of the phone is very tightly packed to make phone thinner. So there's no room for the heat to go.U'll find this problem in almost all of the high end devices and they all pack a punch but in a very small and congested area. So heating up of the back is quite a normal problem. There is a downside to it thought. Google/Lg embedded a script in the OS which will cause bottle-necking if the device heats of too much. There's no fix for it but there is a workaround which is to lower ur max cpu freq from 1.5ghz, there are more custom fixes u can find on google or XDA but google/LG did their bid by making sure the phone will not explode or gets too overheated and burn down. If u still want to do more u can always Google :)

I need to buy a new smartphone and I'm confused between Nexus 4 and Galaxy S3. I'm okay with the plasticky look of S3 and the inability to expand memory on the Nexus 4. Please help me decide. Also i've read that the camera on Nexus 4 is not that great as the one on galaxy. Please assist.

karan1410 dude the only reason one would buy a nexus is so that he could get timely software update and developer support and mahn why dont you but a onex+ its available for 28k on themobile store it looks deadly in black it has got 64gigs of storage larger battery and a lovely and sturdy polycarbonate unibody... i;m awstruck with that thing and you will love it too

SnsBaid

Subham S karan1410 photo sphere alone dont make the camera good , nexus camera is sub par when compared to the cameras on htc one x and gs3 and xperia sp.

Subham S
Subham S

karan1410 Nope, the Nexus 4 camera is also great like S3 even the photo sphere is better than S3's panorama and you get more frequent updates on Nexus 4.

karan1410
karan1410

SnsBaid karan1410 All the HTC's are bundled with bloatware and you can't remove them.  Also personally i don't like the Sense UI as currently i'm using the HTC One V. it is not as great as Samsung's TouchWiz or the stock JellyBean, so HTC gets ruled out. What's your take on the Galaxy S3?  Any factors to consider that?

karan1410
karan1410

sunil007dude karan1410 Nope, but read about it. Looks great and the specs are cool too. But I would rather go for something thats already been in the market

karan1410 SnsBaid sense looks and functions much better than that stupid nature or touchwiz ui.. one v have some hardware issues that might be the reason of your problem (my friend had it) so dude just go and but nexus or htc one x+.... its ridiculously beautiful..

I would say that this is by far the best Android device running a stock Android at this price point. I remember, back in Jan , this device was selling above 32K in the Grey market. I am also glad that LG have priced it superbly in the sub 30 bracket and this offers an entirely different value proposition. If LG could push it through proper publicity blitz then the Nexus-4  would be their best selling flagship device. Though its a spec by spec copy of Optimus G but the association of the Nexus Brand has a totally different dominance.

The storage should not be a problem, given so many cloud options available, ask any iPhone user with 16gb variant , fixed battery , well from personal experience, even with heavy data usage it lasts through the day easily .

Please be advised , Nexus phones are predominantly a developers phone but this particular Nexus -4 is different,  it offers  ease of use, smooth, zero lag performance, premium absolutely a premium feel in hand, the fastest OTA update of any upcoming Android versions,  top specs, superb price point and most importantly with an Indian warranty , should attract buyers !

cheers !

Got mine from Canada about 2 weeks ago.. Now its Rooted, Custom OS, OCed at 1.9Ghz and undervolted around 100mV. Running  buttery smooth with great battery life. My friend with Note 2 is actually jealous of me cause of all this :D

This phone is actually better than samsung's flagship phones. The Only disappointing thing is there is no external sdcard support and no USB on the go.

WolfeeEven the Note 2 can be Rooted, slapped on a Custom OS, OC'd, etc. It has "great" battery life and it comes with.... wait for it... A microSD card slot -_- Unless and until he's a dumb guy he has no reason to be jealous of u (Read : Except direct Google updates).

Wolfee

rk_ftw Sure it can..actually i rooted his phone yesterday but that doesn't make him to stop feeling sorry for himself cause he bought a phone which is much costlier, heavy, plasticy, huge and can't fit into his small jeans pocket easily so he has to carry it in hand. and most of all his dumbness that he bought a phone without thinking that he won't require half of the features the phone offers but bought just cause it was so hyped And he's mostly jealous that nexus offer premium feel while his phone which cost atleast 10k more feels plasticy and there are so many guys running around with same looking galaxy devices and root which offers users to explore new stuff and push u'r phone to max.  Now though after rooting he feels a little less sorry :P

Wolfee
Wolfee

sunil007dude Dude i didn't bought this phone to listen to music via speaker grill(who does that these days anyway) i have a nice headset which i use. A bought it cause i recently started developing for android and my old wildfire S was at its last breath. This being a developer phone gets latest updates. BTW there is a mod available to increase its overall volume for those who think its pathetic but it's good enough for me as all i need it for is ringtones and stuff. Its not like i want others to listen to songs i listen if i wanted that i would've bought one of those Chinese phone with huge speakers and 2 batteries :P

Wolfee
Wolfee

vikram8446 Nope, Nexus 4 doesn't provide the power a usb stick requires to run while its in plugged it. Its a hardware issue not a software one  Lg didn't thought that we Nexus 4 users will require that feature cause of HUGE 16gigs they were giving the users out of which only 13gigs is available(SARCASM).
