Sony Xperia Z Ultra Will have 6.4 Inch Display?
Sony is gearing up to launch a new super-sized smartphone in the market called the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, the phone is expected to be over 6 inches. The initial set of rumours suggested that Sony Xperia ZU will have a 6.44-inch full HD (1920 x 1080p) display with a 342 ppi pixel density along with an IPS LCD screen. However recent leaked suggest that the Sony Xperia Z Ultra will have a slightly smaller, 6.21-inch display with a 1,824 x 1,080 resolution.
Sony Xperia ZU is likely to compete with the recently announced 6.1-inch Huawei Ascend Mate and Samsung’s 5.8 & 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega.
Similar phones launched in the past including the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 come with dual core processors, and Huawei’s Ascend Mate is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. However, rumours for Sony Xperia Z Ultra suggests that the handset might have a quad-core 2.2 GHz processor, which means a that this may be a expensive handset. It is also expected that the Sony Xperia Z Ultra might have a 8 MP main camera considering the market competition.
While there’s no clear indication of Sony Xperia Z Ultra release date, we think that the Japanese firm will unveil its super-sized smartphone in Germany as Sony has sent out invites to an event on June 25, while for July 4 event in France, invite says that Sony Mobile has a “big surprise” in store. If the Sony Xperia Z Ultra does indeed make an appearance at one or both of these shows then you can probably expect the handset to hit stores towards the end of July or beginning of August in India as well.
