Report : Hyundai To Launch It’s New i10 by August 2013
Hyundai’s new i10 (codenamed BA) is expected to make its global debut in August 2013. The car is been tested globally, also been spotted testing in and around its Sriperumbudur factory, Chennai. However, the car was fully camouflaged, so it is quite difficult to reveal the styling.
The new i10 ( W / Next gen / Fluidic ) featuring Hyundai’s Fluidic design philosophy will replace the current generation version of the hatchback globally. However In India, It’s been reported that the new i10 ( W / Next gen / Fluidic ) will sit between the current generation i10 and the i20 hatchbacks. The new i10 ( W / Next gen / Fluidic ) is larger than the current version. The larger dimensions of the car are expected to liberate more space on the insides.
For India, it is expected that the new i10 ( W / Next gen / Fluidic ) will be offered with a new 1.1-litre three cylinder turbo diesel engine. Moreover, a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine will also be offered along with the 1.2 Kappa engine. Also, Hyundai is likely to build the 1.1-litre diesel engine in its Chennai facility. At present the company imports its diesel engines from South Korea and this move will help them reduce cost as Sriperumbudur plant is capable of producing both petrol and diesel engines at large.
Its also been reported that new i10 might also get a sub 4-meter compact sedan version, which will take on the likes of the Honda Amaze and the Maruti Dzire and could reach the Indian car market next year.
According to a tweet from Siddharth Vinayak Patankar (NDTV), the new Hyundai i10’s Indian launch has been advanced to August 2013. With that, India could be the first market in the world to get the new i10, considering the fact that the hatchback’s global unveil will happen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
