Nissan Sunny Facelift Is Around The Corner After Micra?
There have been several reports on the Nissan Sunny facelift after the recent refreshment of Nissan’s entry level hatch Micra. It’s also been reported that Nissan India has revealed that the Sunny facelift could be similar to what the Micra Facelift has got in terms of the styling elements. Also the Nissan Sunny facelift would bring along with a limited edition model that will come feature packed.
The Nissan Sunny facelift seems to get similar styling changes like Micra with the new headlamps, a new grille and a new front bumper. On the inside, the car could get an additional glovebox and better plastics. Mechanically, the Sunny will remain unchanged. It will continue to sport 1.5-litre HR15DE petrol and K9K diesel engines, both coupled with manual transmissions. Also expect the car to get a new XV Premium trim level, which will come equipped with a reverse camera and four airbags.
The ‘Caaar’ managed to get good response initially for Nissan because of its USP as it offers tremendous knee room for its rear passengers, which is not just best in its segment, but better than cars that cost nearly twice as much. Later it saw a serious drop in sales and according to SIAM data, the Sunny only managed to sell 1,110 units in May this year, a drop of over 50 per cent compared to the same time last year.
Nissan could also bring in an entry-level version of the Sunny on similar lines as the Micra Active to bring up the total sales count. This version will take on the Dzire in terms of pricing but could sport less flashy interiors, smaller wheels and a de-tuned petrol engine to enhance fuel economy.
