For all those who have been waiting for Blackberry Messenger on Android, here is an official statement from the company at Waterloo:

“The BBM service is coming to Android this summer. But summer as per North America, where it remains till September.”
Said Sunil Lalvani, managing director, BlackBerry India.

Since BlackBerry announced that its BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) services will be available for Android and iOS, there has been buzz among consumers. While BlackBerry has been in the news for different events, including their new device launches or BBM 7 or their continous tiffs about BBM with the Indian Government, there’s nothing been said about BBM on iOS, we believe it’ll still take some time.

Recently Blackberry officially announced BBM7 with voice for BlackBerry OS 5.0+ in India.  The new BBM 7 includes the new BBM Voice as well as updated emoticons, BBID integration and much more. It gives you the freedom to choose how you’ll connect with your BBM contacts. It is designed so you can seamlessly switch from a BBM message to a BBM Voice call for free over Wi-Fi.

Also, Blackberry recently launched their cheapest Blackberry 10 device, the Blackberry Q5 in India. It is the second QWERTY touch and type device from Blackberry, following in the footsteps of the atrociously priced Blackberry Q10.

Similar to the BlackBerry Q10, the device features a 3.1 inch 720 x 720 resolution screen. Unlike the Bold-esque QWERTY on the Q10, the keys on the Blackberry Q5 keyboard are more basic.

The BlackBerry Q5 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and has 2GB of RAM, microSD slot, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, 4G and a 2180mAh battery and the price of the handset is Rs. 24,990.
