Rumour : Nexus 5 To Be Based On LG G2 Platform, Release Oct or Nov?
It’s been over nine months since Google released the Nexus 4 and now among all the rumours for Nexus 5, a Vietnamese tech blog site Tinhte.vn claimed in a report that Google will be using the recently unveiled G2 as the direction for the Nexus 4 replacement but with slight variations. One notable alteration is the body-build, which according to the same report will take after last year’s model.
Tinhte.vn has consistently revealed information well ahead of actual release dates, so we’re inclined to take notice when the website talks.
The report also suggests that the Nexus 5 will have a glass back, much like the Nexus 4 and will omit the rear buttons that are found in the LG G2. According to the report, the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and not Nvidia Tegra 4 processor that recent rumours had indicated.
The Nexus 5 is likely to be Google’s device to introduce the next version of Android, 5.0 Key Lime Pie. It will probably be joined by a new version of the Nexus 10, too. So naturally, we’re keen to know what it will offer.
It’s highly likely that we’ll see the new Nexus 5 arrive around a year after the Nexus 4, in October or maybe November. The Galaxy Nexus was announced in November and the Nexus S in December.
