Recently launched Audi Q3 S continues the success story of the hugely popular Audi Q3 with the company recording 125 bookings on launch day through innovative online booking process while Audi Q3 had also received 500 bookings within 5 days of its launch in June 2012. The booking numbers on launch day set a new benchmark in the industry.

What makes the present feat even more striking is that it comes at a time when the industry is passing through the toughest time in recent history with car sales plummeting. Even the SUV market that had survived the scare in the first six months declined in July. 

“We are not surprised with the response that we have received. Audi has been a leader in the luxury SUV segment in India. The response further reinforces our leadership position in this segment. The Audi Q3 S Edition offers our fans a new way to connect with their favorite brand and we hope to expand our customer base with this new product,” said Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India. 

“Today we also set a new paradigm in marketing innovation with the launch of the Audi online booking engine, India’s first booking engine for a luxury car brand. This innovative and path-breaking online booking engine will help us in further connecting with our customers wherever they are,” added Perschke. 

This new online booking strategy has worked well in company’s favour. We might see more and more companies following the trend. Recently Tata motors also announced that they will sell their Nano through e-commerce websites. So it seems that the auto sector is getting ready to take advantage of the booming e-commerce market in India.
