Kobo Launches Four eReaders in India
Kobo, is an e-reading services company, which has launched its digital reading options in India, including its E-Ink and tablets, like the Kobo Touch, Kobo Glo, Kobo Arc and Kobo Aura HD. Also applications for iOS, Android, Windows, and BlackBerry mobile platforms.
The new products launched are as follows:
The Kobo Touch eReader features a 6 inch anti-glare Pearl E Ink touchscreen, the device is priced at Rs.7,999 but will be offered at Rs. 6,999 during the promotional offer. It is coupled with 2 GB storage capacity expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.
The Kobo Glo eReader is a front-lit device which helps users to read in the dark. It features a 6-inch E-Ink a no-glare XGA high-resolution screen. The device is available at a price of Rs. 10,999. It is coupled with a 2 GB storage capacity expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.
Kobo Aura HD, the company claims to offer the highest-resolution screen available in an e-reader, the device sports a 6.8 inch front-lit Pearl E-Ink touchscreen with a resolution of 1440 x 1080 pixels(265 dpi), the device is priced at 13999 INR. The device is powered by a 1 GHz processor and is coupled with a 4 GB storage capacity expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.
The Kobo Arc is a 7-inch tablet which runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with the Tapestries UI, which is Kobo’s customized interface. The device features a high-definition display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels (215ppi). The device is priced at 9999 which is a discounted price and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual core processor and 1 GB RAM. The device sports a 1.3 megapixel 720p front-facing camera.
All the device above sports WiFi connectivity. Free or discounted ebook offers will also be available with the purchase of Kobo devices or with the download of a Kobo app for a limited time, according to the company.
