When Google launched the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL back in October, the company talked up their device’s AI capabilities. Apple, when it launched the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and the iPhone X also talked about the AI capabilities present in its A11 Bionic chipset. The two big names in the smartphone industry set the trend of machine learning taking centre stage at a smartphone launch and companies like Huawei have followed suit since then.
LG has been going through a bit of a rebranding/rehashing of its flagship smartphone lineup lately. And it is now confirmed that the LG G7 won’t see an early release that its predecessors have seen over the years. Instead, LG will [...]
LG’s flagship smartphone lineup’s future might be a bit hazy right now but, the company still believes that it has a strong foothold in the budget segment. That is, in its native market. LG was expected to launch the LG G7 at either the CES 2018 or MWC 2018 but, it looks like the anticipated smartphone is quite a few months away from launch. A recent report claimed that the LG CEO has instructed his team to rework on the LG G7 and come up with a completely rehashed version of the flagship device.
While the flagship smartphone plans seem awry for LG, the budget segment is consistently being targeted. The company has now launched the ruggedly built LG X4+ in its [...]
The LG G7 has been a shadow of what the LG G6 was at the same time back in 2017. There have barely been any leaks, rumours or renders of the upcoming flagship smartphone from LG. The company’s smartphone business has not been doing well at all, after ten back-to-back quarterly losses and the eleventh to follow soon.
At CES 2018, LG came out and conceded that it needs to take major steps to turn the tide around for its smartphone business. Subsequently, a rebranding of the LG G series was rumoured and it appears that this move on the cards. According to a report, vice chairman and CEO of LG Electronics, Jo [...]
Early months of a year are usually dedicated to the hype around the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy ‘S’ series. Along with the Galaxy S9 and S9+ this year, the LG G7 is also expected to be launched in early-2018, most probably at MWC. Unlike the Galaxy S9, there haven’t been a lot of leaks or renders revealing the possible design of the upcoming smartphone.
A new leaked image, however, reveals what could be the LG G7. Two striking aspects of this image are the bottom bezel and the front-facing cameras. According to the image, LG will eliminate the bottom bezel from its next flagship smartphone while keeping a relatively thinner upper bezel.
LG announced the LG V30+ back in August during IFA 2017 in Berlin. While the device was slowly spread out to global markets after its initial launch in South Korea, the smartphone made its way to India in mid-December. In India, the V30+ is available in only two colours, Aurora Black and Cloud Silver while globally there are two more colour variants available, Moroccan Blue, and Lavender Violet.
However, right before CES 2018 went underway, the South Korean company announced a new colour variant of the LG V30, called Raspberry Rose. It is a shade of red which is different from other [...]
The LG G6 was announced in February of 2017 with a disappointing omission in the specifications. At the time, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 was the latest flagship chipset and LG could’ve used the chip for its latest device but, it couldn’t. It all came down to an agreement between Samsung and Qualcomm wherein Samsung agreed to manufacture the Snapdragon 835 chipset but, demanded exclusive access the first few batches of the new chipset.
As a result, the LG G6 launched with the yesteryear’s Snapdragon 821 and the Galaxy S8 and S8+ launched in March, powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. Most of the flagship smartphones of 2018 are expected to be [...]
Companies usually wait for CES to launch new and exciting pieces of technology. LG, however, appears to be in no mood to wait for this year’s CES, as it has launched its first ever 4K projector, the HU80KA. LG claims the new UHD projector is almost half the size of its competition in the market and unlike other projectors which are “heavy, expensive, and difficult to install,” this one from LG is better.
LG is calling the HU80KA an “affordable, yet premium” 4K projector which can output a 150-inch picture on any wall in a house. The picture from this machine can get really bright as well, and the company claims that the HU80KA maxes out at 2500 [...]
In the tech world, consumers recognise a brand through years of sequential sub-brand products. Companies like Samsung and Apple have consistently launched smartphones in their ‘Galaxy’ and ‘iPhone’ lineup. LG, however, might be in the works of shaking things up a bit with its upcoming LG G7 (tentatively named) flagship smartphone.
An anonymous company official has conceded that the company is planning to rebrand its flagship ‘G’ lineup with the upcoming device expected to be launched at MWC 2018.
LG is preparing a new brand strategy for the G series in the first half of the year. Numbering the [...]
