Sony Xperia Z4 Might Arrive in India as the Xperia Z3+
Sony is here with the successor of the Xperia Z3. The latest version of the Xperia Z series has been branded as Xperia Z4 in Japan, where it made its debut. Reports now suggest that for the global launch, the smartphone might not be called the Sony Xperia Z4 but the Z3+. Some suggest that the addition of (+) instead of an increase in numerical value is because there is only a minor update in the Z3+ over the Z3. It is important to note that this may not be Sony’s flagship phone for 2015. The company might have a trick under its sleeve for the launch of their flagship phone, expected to arrive in the month of May.
While most specs remain unchanged, the minor upgrade in the new Z3+(Global)/ Z4(Japan) is the front facing camera and the processor in the device. Sony is planning to launch the Z3+ only seven months after the launch of the Z3 which is another indication that the company probably has another flagship phone in store.
Let’s look at the overall specs on the Z3+/Z4. The display on the phone is a 5.2-inch 1080×1920 pixels (424 ppi), the chipset is a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 processor, GPU is an Adreno 430, and internal storage is 32 GB which can be further expanded to 128GB via a micro-SD card. The front facing camera is 5.1-MP, recording videos at 1080p at 30fps, while the primary camera is a 20.7-megapixel shooter. The battery on the phone is 2930 mAh. In line with Sony’s design philosophy, the phone is a dust proof and water resistant device.
