New Oneplus One Update to Resolve Touchscreen Issues
Oneplus One users have been facing a few bugs and touch issues with their handsets on the latest Cyanogen 12.0 OTA update. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer known for its active involvement with fans and users on their social forum took notice of this issue. The company had said that it would have to work with Synaptics in order to come up with a fix. Hence, the latest nightly release, the CM 12.1 update will solve the multi-touch issue for Oneplus users.
Carl Pei, founder of the company confirmed earlier this month that they had found a fix for the multi-touch problem, and users can be assured that they will not face any such issues.
It must be noted that it is a nightly release and not a stable release. It may not be completely stable, so one could run into other bugs and issues while using it. So far, the user feedback on the OnePlus forum has been very positive about this release. The nightly fix can be called as a public testing version.
Those who want the CM 12.1 update will have to download the firmware and manually flash it on their phones. If you are not aware or comfortable with flashing nightly firmwares, a little wait will do no harm. The company might soon release the CM 12.1 as an OTA update with couple of other unknown fixes and bugs. However, it’s unclear as to how long will it take.
Apart from this, there seems to be a major bug with the display that we have no news about getting fixed. The display of the phone sometimes shows distorted lines in small parts of the screen. We would like Oneplus to take notice of this problem and get it fixed in the future OTA’s.
There have been many complaints and reports pouring in on the functioning of the phone’s OS ever since users upgraded to CM 12.0 Android Lollipop 5.0.2. According to us, the most stable and flawless version was the company’s stock rom CM 11.0 Android Kitkat 4.4.4.
