Rumors Suggest Xiaomi Mi Max 2 to Launch in May 2017
According to recent rumors, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is expected to launch in May 2017. A successor of Mi Max, the phone is expected to launch with a 6.44 inch IPS LCD full HD display along with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 px. The screen of the Mi Max 2 is likely to have Corning Glass protection. If speculations are to be believed, the device will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with an Octa-core processor along with Adreno 512 GPU. The OS is expected to be MiUi 8 running on Android 7.0 .
The Mi Max 2 is expected to be launched in two variants. The primary variant will be instilled with 6GB RAM, 128 GB internal memory and the other one will have 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory. Both the variants will have an expandable storage of up to 256 GB. The Mi Max 2 is expected to have a 16 MP primary camera with phase-detection auto-focus, while the front camera will have a 5 MP sensor.
The battery specifications are quite high as compared to its contemporaries, as the phone is expected to sport a 5000 mAh non-removable Li-ion battery. Additional features are likely to include rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer and gyroscope much like the original Mi Max.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2’s predecessor, the Mi Max marked the beginning of a new era of large-screened devices from Xiaomi. Given the features of the Mi Max, it did not really burn a hole in your pocket. If the price of the Mi Max is taken into consideration, the Mi Max 2 will also be reasonably priced, expected below US$ 300 price mark (approx INR 18000-20000). The phone is likely to be available in three colors – Gray, Silver and Gold.
