Dell is one of the largest PC manufacturing companies in the world and the company recently launched the XPS 9370 line of laptops. These laptops are part of the Dell XPS series, a premium line of business laptops and are priced from Rs. 1,01,990 to Rs. 1,70,990 for the top model which we will be unboxing today.
Inside the box, you’ll get the Dell XPS 9370 in either grey or rose gold. The metal chassis is made using CNC machined aluminium. The grey model has a black carbon fiber palm rest whiles the rose gold an alpine white woven glass fiber palm rest which is also UV-resistant and is covered with a stain resistant coating. The model we’re unboxing today is the rose gold variant.
The displays range from an FHD (1920 x 1080 px) InfinityEdge Display to a 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 px) on the top model. It’s the same for the processors as they range from an 8th Generation Intel i5-8250U to the i7-8550U, respectively. In the top model, the Dell XPS 9370 has an 8th Generation Intel i7-8550U processor that is comprised of a total of 4 cores with 8 threads. The chipset has a base frequency of 1.80 GHz with a max turbo frequency of 4.o GHz. The processor also has a clock rate of 1800 – 4000 MHz and has an Intel UHD 620 GUP built in it as well. This variant also has a touchscreen UHD display, giving you an extra layer of interactivity. The laptops have Edge to Edge Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display protection.

The Dell XPS 9370 has 8GB LPDDR3 RAM clocked at 1866Mhz for the two lower models while the top variant has 16GB LPDDR3 RAM which runs at 2133Mhz.
The Dell XPS 9370’s full-sized chiclet keyboard has a key travel of 1.3mm. The keyboard feels a little mushy to use but does the job.
The touchpad on the Dell XPS 9370 is smooth and rather easy to use. The fingerprint sensor is located on the power button and it is Windows Hello compliant. The laptop has a widescreen 720p HD infrared camera below the screen which is also Windows Hello compatible. These features are present in all three models of the XPS 9370. The new range from Dell runs on Windows 10 Home and is preinstalled with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2016 DFO on all variants. Connectivity is handled by the inbuilt Killer 1453 802.11ac 2×2 WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
The Dell XPS 9370 has a 52Whr Battery and in the box is a 45W AC Adapter as well. The machine is one of the smallest laptops you’ll find in the market, at about 13 inches in size (33.02 cms), the XPS 9370 is a little powerhouse.
The Dell XPS 9370 also has a 256GB SSD and a 512GB SSD in the top variant. The laptop uses Gore Thermal Insulation as an effective insulator. GTI is a silica aerogel that is suitable for use in extreme environments. This keeps the laptop cool and prevents it from overheating.
It also looks incredibly good with the rose gold metallic cover and adds a nice aesthetic to the black and silver colours of most laptops. The Dell XPS 9370 measures 0.3” to 0.46” in height and 11.9” in width and is incredibly thin as well. Ports include 2 x Thunderbolt 3 ports (which will support eGPUs), a USB Type-C slot, headphone jack, and a microSD card slot. All three variants weight in at 1.21 Kgs, which is quite light.
