Amazon launched a new series of devices including a newly designed Echo, Echo Connect, Echo Plus, Echo Spot and Echo Button. The retail giant also launched devices like a voice-controlled microwave and a wall clock. With these products, Amazon is on its way to strengthen its foothold into the domain of home-appliances. The company recently expressed its ambition to make their automated assistant Alexa ubiquitous. However, the new products have done little to add to Alexa’s capabilities. Instead, Amazon has worked on enhancing the design and sound of the products.

The new Amazon Echo devices include:

1. The Echo Dot

The Echo Dot Amazon

Amazon Echo Dot is one of the most popular voice-controlled speakers. Now Amazon has launched it with improved sound quality and a new design. The device has a speaker size of 1.6 inch and weighs around 300 grams. It can also be connected via a 3.5 mm cable or Bluetooth. The improved voice quality enables Alexa to catch your far-field voice and carry out your orders. From setting your alarm to daily news and more, Alexa is well equipped to carry out your daily tasks. You can also ask Alexa about the movie showtimes, restaurant hours or use your voice to set timers, and create event reminders.

The device is priced at Rs 4,499. Moreover, the Echo Dot can place free audio calls to the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

2. The Echo Plus

The Echo Plus

For Echo Plus, Amazon is using the Zigbee protocol, a widely used smart home protocol that connects sensors, bulbs and camera and enable easy and inexpensive communication between these devices. Along with all the “Ask Alexa” features of Echo Dot, the Echo Plus also has a temperature sensor. It has new premium speakers powered by Dolby play 360 degree. The Echo Plus is also equipped with features like seven microphones, beam forming technology, and noise cancellation, enabling it to hear you from any direction, even while music is playing.

The device is priced at Rs 14,999.

3. The Echo Show

The Echo Show

Amazon has revamped the Echo Show by giving the speakers an improved sound quality, and a new 10 inch HD screen. The bigger screen will let you see lyrics more easily and offers a better experience while streaming music, as well as watching movies, TV shows and the news. It also features a new fabric design, together with eight microphones and far-field technology. Like other newly launched products in the Echo Series, Echo Show allows you to place calls and control compatible Zigbee devices through a simple smart-home setup.

Echo Show is still priced at $229.99. If you also want an additional stand to tilt your Echo Show to adjust the viewing angle and camera, you can get it for $24.99.

4. The Echo Sub

This new Echo series aligns with Amazon’s ambition to make Alexa’s presence known in areas where people spend majority of their time, that is, at home and in their cars. Recently, Audi revealed a new fully electric E-tron SUV making it the first vehicle to integrate Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa.
