Blizzard Announces Diablo Immortal For Mobile
Blizzard, the developer of titles like Overwatch, World of Warcraft and Heroes of the Storm have announced Diablo Immortal at BlizzCon. BlizzCon is an annual event by the developer where they announce new games and addition to the existing games. This year, Blizzard debuted the trailer for its first mobile Diablo game called Diablo: Immortal. The game has been made exclusively for iOS and Android platforms. The game will developed by Blizzard in collaboration with NetEase. In terms of the series’ chronology, the game takes place between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3.
The mobile game will be a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) game. The players will be able to switch groups as they travel through the ‘Sanctuary’. Players will be able to choose from a range of in-game classes. These classes include monk, wizard, crusader, demon hunter, necromancer and barbarian. According to Blizzard, the game will regularly introduce new characters, storylines and more. The game also received it’s own cinematic reveal trailer. The trailer has been received in a negative way by the community. It has more dislikes on YouTube than likes. The gameplay trailer also has similar statistics.
Fans at the BlizzCon assumed that the trailer was for Diablo 4. Some fans also expressed their disappointment by asking rude questions during a live panel discussion. Gamers also expressed their concerns about NetEase’s projects in the past. Players have pointed out in a Reddit post, the similarities between Diablo and NetEase’s Endless Of Gods. However, Blizzard claims that it will be a full-fledged mobile game.
The developer has been quiet about the future of Diablo as of now. Although, Blizzard is currently allowing players to pre-register for a chance to join the upcoming beta version. No release date has been confirmed, but the developer says that it will be out soon.
