Hitman 2: From Creating Assassinations To Sniper Assassin Mode; All You Need To Know
Hitman 2, the sequel to 2016’s episodic Hitman has been officially announced by developers IO Interactive. The game will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 13th, 2018. It is the second game in the Hitman series reboot. The story follows Agent 47, one of the most recognisable assassins in the video game world, as he travels around the world on a “mission to hunt the elusive Shadow Client and unravel his militia once and for all”.
The game will feature highly-detailed sandboxes filled with different environments. The players will have the ability to explore dynamic environments and plan a unique assassination using a variety of tools, weapons and disguises. Players can use the environment to their advantage. Use of different tools and weapons will give players the ability to create their unique assassinations.
Like with most AAA titles these days, the game will be available in different editions. The Standard edition, which will be the basic set with Sniper Assassin mode for pre-order customers.
The Silver edition, this will include an additional pistol and briefcase, plus Expansion 1, which brings new maps, locations, weapons and costumes to the game.
The Gold edition, this will include everything from the Silver edition with an early access to the game and Expansion 2, which adds a new location, new missions, maps, weapons, outfits and a sniper map.
The Collector’s edition, which will include everything from the Gold edition and physical goodies like a replica briefcase and a keychain.
Sniper Assassin Mode
The game will also feature new Sniper Assassin mode. It is an online or offline co-op mode that challenges the player with pulling of unique assassinations. There are not much limitations to the concept. The players can team up in an online squad to carry out assassinations. It is also available in a single player mode where the player can play as Agent 47.
There are new assassination missions in Hitman 2 known as the Elusive Targets. These are temporary targets that players will have one chance to kill. They will have a limited time period during which the players could assassinate the target. Actor, Sean Bean will be the first Elusive Target in the game. His in-game nickname is The Undying and the character will debut in the game starting from November 20th. In a recent interview he announced that he is excited to see how players “assassinate” him.
Another new feature in the upcoming title is the Ghost Mode. This is a 1-V-1 online multiplayer mode. In this mode, each player controls a version of Agent 47 and has to eliminate a target as quickly as possible. Each kills counts as a point. To complete the kill, the player would also have to hide the body of the target without being immediately found. Killing innocents reduces points.
Players will get to pickup items from Ghost Crates, which are full of disguises, weapons and more. If one player takes an item, that item won’t be available to the opponent. The goal of this mode is to earn five points before the other player. However, Players won’t be going head-to-head against each other, they will be going after the same target in different “realities”.
The new additions will drastically improve the gameplay and make it more fun. It has also received positive ratings from critics. The game will be available for purchase from Nov. 13. Unlike it’s predecessor, Hitman 2 will ditch the episodic releases and will see its launch as a full game.
