PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, abbreviated as PUBG, is one of the most popular games these days. It is a battle royale game where 100 players are transported on an island where they can land on different locations of their choice. The aim of the players is to be the last one alive in a field of 100 players. During the gameplay, players must gather weapons of their choice and supplies and stay within a “safe zone”. Different strategies and survival skills are used to kill the opponents to emerge as the victor. The game is currently available on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Android and iOS. A PS4 version will also launch soon.

The PS4 Launch

Sony Interactive Entertainment accidentally put up the listing for PUBG PS4 on Amazon. The company quickly removed the listing, However, screenshots of the same were captured and shared on Twitter by a user. The Amazon listing confirmed that the game would go on sale on December 8th, 2018. The product description consists of the word “Sorry”. The About Product portion consists of three bullet points that state “Not Available Yet”. Additionally there is no image for the listing, only an Amazon placeholder image is present.

Both companies, Sony and Tencent, have not said anything regarding the release of the game yet. It is rumoured that Tencent might announce the launch of PUBG for the platform during The Games Awards 2018, which will be held on December 6th. Players are still waiting for any official information about the release.

With the release of PUBG on PS4, the developer could work towards cross-platform play. Fortnite, a competitor of PUBG, is already available on all major gaming platforms and supports cross-platform play. The game has overshadowed PUBG for sometime now. However, this might change with its launch on PS4.
