India being one of the most populated country in world, also has a massive smartphone user base. The research firm, Canalys has shared an India bound sales report that exhibits the sales performance of different smartphone OEMs in the country.
According to a report published by Canalys, Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi has once again come out on top as the most selling smartphone maker in India for the Q2 of 2019 (April to June). Noteworthy, the position has been held by Xiaomi since 2017 after it surpassed Samsung that held the postition for an extended period of time.

Micromax co founder, Rahul Sharma’s independent venture Revolt Motors, has unveiled its first electric bike, the RV 400 in India which is targetted towards the youth. The pre bookings for the newly launched EV will commence on the 25th of June 2019. Interested users can book the bike from the company’s website or Amazon.in at a price of Rs 1000.

Taiwanese smartphone maker, HTC has seen better days in the past accrediting to its software and hardware innovations. Noteworthy, it was the worlds first company to launch a dual camera smartphone, the EVO 3D. However, in an economy like India which is majorly driven by the specification to price ratio, HTC failed to persist and ceased its operations in the country last year. Reportedly the company is planning to make a comeback in India but in a completely different convention. The company is in talks with three Indian OEMs, Micromax, Lava and Karbonn which will license its brand name and will pay a royalty in return.

Samsung and Xiaomi together constitute 45% of the smartphone market in India in Q3 of 2017. The smartphone grew 37% (quarter on quarter) and 18% (year on year) to temporarily surpass the US for the first time ever as the second largest smartphone market in the world. The number one spot i still retained by China. Micromax is readying to launch a 4G feature phone which will compete with the new JioPhone. The feature phone will be called BharatOne and will be launched in the first week of October for a price of Rs 2000. BharatOne will be launched in collaboration with state-run telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam.
The free voice and data offers will be provoded by BSNL and Micromax will take care of the manufacturing. The BharatOne is said to have a better camera, larger screen and more battery life than any other feature phone available in the market right now, including the JioPhone.

Micromax in an event on 22 August has launched the Canvas Infinity with a bezel-less display for Rs 9,999.
The Canvas Infinity features an all-metal design with plastic top and bottom ends and a brushed metal finish to accommodate the antennas. The device sports a 5.7-inch 1440 x 720 px IPS LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 2.5 curved glass on top. The Micromax Dual 5 gets it’s name from the dual camera setup at the back. The phones sports two 13 MP Sony sensors. Of the sensors one is a colour and one a monochrome sensor, you also get F / 1.8 aperture and a Pixel size of 1.12u. The camera setup also has PDAF and a Corning glass lens surface with a 6 lens type structure and a dedicated color temperature sensor which allows for accurate colour in the images.

Moto’s next Moto X has leaked in images online, with a metal unibody similar to that of the Moto G5 Plus, however, the camera housing shows a dual camera setup. The back is curved and shows the Moto logo thankfully sitting in a dimple and not flush like the Moto G Plus.
The images of the recovery mode of the phone show that the phone is running a Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The screen is expected to be a 5.5. inch display. The Moto X has not been updated in a while and the Moto X Force was the last phone launched by Moto in India, which was over one year ago.
