    GM India Launches All New 2013 Chevrolet Captiva

    The all new face-lifted Chevrolet Captiva will hit the Indian roads very soon as the Chevrolet India’s website has the listing of the all new car.

    The company claims that the car is available in two awe-inspiring variants – the LT (Manual Transmission) and LTZ (Automatic Transmission), it is designed to make your drive smoother than any other car. Crafted for the discerning eye, it’s a real head turner on the road. The adaptive all-wheel drive and level ride control help you maneuver through city traffic as well as winding hilly trails with equal ease. Those road trips take on a whole new meaning. But make no mistake. Behind all the refinement and finesse lies the true aggression of a SUV.

    The new Captiva comes with a starting price of 23,49,802 INR. The re-worked front of the SUV includes a new lower bumper, new fog lamps, chrome surrounds and new design on the grille mesh. Stop tail lights gets LED and new wheels get classier 18” six-spoke alloys.

     

    The company further says, behind that stylish door of the new Captiva lies a world of comfort. Innovative 5+2 Flexi Seating Configuration which makes the Captiva incredibly spacious while giving you ample space to relax.     Chevrolet Beat gets a minor interior upgrade

    General Motors has given the Chevrolet Beat two minor cosmetic upgrades. The exterior is unaffected, with both changes taking place on the inside of the budget hatchback. These updates come in the form of driver-side seat height adjust and additional silver accents on the otherwise unchanged dashboard. These accents were earlier seen only on the steering wheel.

    The Beat continues to be available in a choice of petrol, CNG and diesel powerplants. The same 1.2-litre petrol and the India specific 1.0-litre diesel engines are on offer with, the petrol engine producing 90PS of power and 108Nm of torque, and the diesel churning out 58PS and 150Nm of torque.

    Owing to poor sales figures, GM has also introduced a limited period offer of Rs. 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base PS petrol variant. Additionally, all versions of the Chevrolet Beat are on offer with free insurance that saves you upto Rs 15,000. There’s a Rs 10,000 loyalty bonus for those who currently own a Chevrolet and want to also buy the Beat. In case this is your first Chevrolet car, Rs 15,000 will be offered as exchange bonus when you trade in your old car at the showroom.

    2014 Chevrolet Camaro to play Bumblebee in Transformers 4

    Almost all cars from Michael Bay’s upcoming edition of the hugely successful Transformers franchise have been confirmed over the last few months, save for the pivotal Bumblebee.

    It looks like the wait may be over now, after shots of the 2014 Camaro Concept at the shooting site were released. The new Camaro is a strong modern equivalent to the Bumblebee of old times which we’ve already been shown earlier. A serious reimagination of the Camaro was done, and the 2014 Concept could surely lead the way for the production model. With a very aggressively sculpted front end and piercing headlamps, the car looks ready to roll for Transformers 4.

    Some of the other vehicles being used in the film include the C7 Corvette Stingray, Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, Lamborghini Aventador, Pagani Huayra and a Chevrolet Sonic Rally Racer.

    GM suspends production of diesel Sail and Sail U-VA

    General Motors (GM) India has suspended production of the diesel variants of its newly launched Chevrolet Sail sedan and the Sail U-VA hatchback, suspecting problems with the 1.3-litre diesel engine used in these cars.

    GM India has also suspended production of the BS III variant of the Chevrolet Tavera due to emission concerns. Not only might the delivery of these cars might be delayed, the issue may lead to a product recall of all diesel models of the Sail saloon and Sail hatchback manufactured over a certain period. GM India, for now, did not say if a recall of the cars was likely. P Balendran, vice president, GM India, said, “We will come back to you with an update after thorough investigation in the coming days.”

    Neither issue is safety-related. The Tavera BS-IV and Sail HB & NB petrol models are unaffected and production of these vehicles is continuing.

     It is not clear when the company will resume production the three vehicles.  GM launched the Sail U-VA hatchback last year and the Sail sedan this year in the country.

    Chevrolet Launches Enjoy MPV Starting At Rs. 5.49 Lakh

    Chevrolet has launched its first MPV model in India. It’s called the Enjoy and it will set you back between Rs. 5.49 lakh to Rs. 7.99 lakh. The compact SUV and MPV segment has really picked up in India of late, with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova enjoying runaway success and the Ford EcoSport hitting the Indian market in the summer this year. The Enjoy is Chevrolet’s hope to give the Ertiga competition, and at first glance it seems more than capable of doing just that.

    The Enjoy is available with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 1.4-litre unit putting out 103 bhp and 13.25 kgm of torque while the 1.3-litre diesel unit produces 76 bhp and 19.17 kgm of torque. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

    The Chevrolet Enjoy has very spacious interiors which can seat 7 or 8 people depending on whether the middle row has a bench seat or captain seats. It comes with simple but comfortable interiors offering power steering, power windows, stereo and air conditioning. Safety features include anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution and dual front airbags. With a straightforward design, the Chevrolet Enjoy surely won’t blow anyone away, but it ticks all the right boxes considering what one would want from an affordable and spacious entry-level MPV, and should ‘Enjoy’ its fair bit of success.

    AutoGyaan : GM Launches new Captiva in India Starting Rs 18.75 L Ex-Showroom Delhi

    General Motors has launched their much awaited SUV the 2012 Chevrolet Captiva 2.2 AT AWD in India, Priced between 1,874,062-2,459,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that delivers 186.5 bhp at the rate of 3,800 revolutions per minute (RPM) and 424 Nm at the rate of 2,000 RPM torque along with a six-speed automatic transmission.

    The SUV is also equipped with a five-plus-two flexible seating arrangement that can accommodate seven adults. It boasts of 1,565 litre cargo space. In terms of safety, the Captiva is equipped with six airbags.
