Facebook now trying to make another Smartphone
Facebook is back to building smartphones, and this time around its no ChaCha. According to the New York Times Bits blog, the company is hiring old Apple iPhone and iPad engineers and employees to develop phones exclusive to Facebook

RIM ready to cut more jobs, 2000 employees’ jobs loom in the future, as Blackberry suffers downfall
Another sad day for Blackberry lovers, The company behind Blackberry does not seem to be getting a break. After selling assets and cutting several jobs, switching CEO’s and gameplay strategies, the company is yet again set to cut upto 2000 jobs in the coming weeks as bad news continues.
The announcement is reportedly said to happen on or before 1st June. 2000 job cuts may seem like a large number, but several other reports including Reuters are pointing at upto 6000 job cuts for the company dealing with massive market loss.
RIM or anyone from the company refuses to comment on the issue at hand. But, we will know sooner than later.

Pentax Launches new K-30 Weather-sealed DSLR (PR)
Pentax has today announced a new Weather sealed K-30 DSLR with a 16 MP APS-C CMOS sensor with an ISO range that extends up to ISO 12800 (expandable to ISO 25600). The camera body is both resistant to rain as well as to dust and temperature extremes.
According to Pentax this is one of the cheapest cameras to offer those features. The camera also features a 3-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 921,000 dots.
The K-30 is also capable of shooting 1080p video at 30, 25, or 24 frames per second, or 60 fps at 720p.
Available in black, white, and blue, the K-30 will go on sale in July. The body will be priced at $849.95 (Rs. 47,000) , while a $899.95 ( Rs. 50,000) kit will be available with a 18-55mm zoom lens.

Google Chrome becomes worlds most popular browser, IE left in the dust
Google Chrome has now become the world’s most popular internet browser as it leaves the long running champion the “Internet Explorer” in its dust. According to new numbers from StatCounter, last week Google’s Web browser garnered a 32.76% share, ahead of Microsoft’s 31.94% and Mozilla Firefox’s 25.47% share. At the start of this week, however, Chrome’s share began to slide, falling to 31.88%, just ahead of Internet Explorer’s 31.47% share. -
Sony LT29i Hayabusa to be deemed the international version of Xperia GX
Sony is working on a device that is codenamed the Hayabusa, also the LT29i, its turns out to be the international version of the Xperia GX. The GX has interesting specs :
- 4.6-inch Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine
- 1.5GHz dual-core processor
- 16GB internal flash storage.
- 13MP camera with Sony Exmor R for mobile, HD video recording
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
It appears that similar specs will be used for the Hayabusa alongside a high cap 1700mah battery pack. No details on pricing or availability but we will keep you posted.

Sony Xperia P to be Available May 25th for 24,999
Sony Mobile’s much awaited Xperia P mobile phone has been deemed to be available starting May 25th for a price Rs. 24999. The Xperia P is a slightly lower version of the Xperia S and will feature a 4-inch Reality Display that Sony claims is the brightest on any screen, so far.
This 120gm phone also has impressive music, it includes xLoud, Clear Bass and 3D surround. It comes with Android 2.3 installed and a Android 4.0 promise.
The one factor that puts it above the Xperia S is Aluminum unibody construction. And as far as internals are concerned its powered by a 1Ghz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM and internal storage of 16GB. The Camera also bears the grunt of downsizing to 8MP vs the 12 on the Xperia S

If you are a Page owner, you will know the importance of stats, then the new app from Facebook on the Apple iOS AppStore might just be what you need. If you live in Australia, New Zealand or Ireland, or have an account in any of those countries, you can download the app which was secretly launched yesterday.Page Manager app lets administrators keep an eye on page-specific notifications and Page Insights, including likes, reach etc. The app is currently only iOS specific, and we are unaware when the app will be fully launch.

Samsung SIII gets over 9 Million Pre-Orders Worldwide
Samsung Galaxy SIII, the device recently launched in London with a worldwide announcement of features, has received over 9 million pre-orders worldwide according to the Korea Economic Daily. If these numbers are to be believed, then Samsung is almost close to the half of the 20 million SIIs they sold overall till FEB 2012.
According to a separate report by Reuters, the company’s factories are producing 5 million units monthly, so it does not seem like stocks should be an issue once the device does get launched.

AutoGyaan : Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid gets a polished Matte Black and White look (PR)
The Hybrid super car from Porsche, “918 Spyder” has gotten a makeover and a renewed Km/L average. The plugin hybrid is now coated with a polished matte Black and White special coat pain work, and will now deliver 100KM/3 liters of petrol. The price is $845,000 (Rs. 45,482,125 excluding duty and tax).
The car has a carbon-fiber reinforced-plastic monocoqueshell, rear-axle steering and upward-venting exhausted system. A combustion engine along with an electric motor to achieve the high Km/L.

Development of the Porsche super sports car enters next phase
Atlanta. The Porsche 918 Spyder is on the road: Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has taken the driving trials of the super sports car of the future a step further with completion of the initial prototypes. The 918 Spyder is planned for production at the end of September 2013, with the first customer deliveries currently scheduled for the United States late in 2013. “What we are doing with the 918 Spyder is redefining driving fun, efficiency and performance,” said Wolfgang Hatz, Member of the Executive Board Research and Development of Porsche AG.
The prototypes, their camouflage harking back to historical Porsche 917 racing cars, signal the final touches to the 918 Spyder. The focus is on the interplay between the highly sophisticated individual drive components. The combination of combustion engine and two independent electric motors – one on the front axle and one in the drive line, acting on the rear wheels – poses completely new demands on the development of the operating strategies. “They are therefore a critical component in this vehicle into which we have put all of our expertise and capacity for innovation,” said Wolfgang Hatz. These operating strategies and the development of the software to go with them are one of Porsche’s core competences. Both of them have a major influence on the extreme driving fun to be had with the 918 Spyder and they make possible a unique combination of minimal fuel consumption and maximum performance. The initial results of the driving trials are in line with the high expectations placed on the 918 Spyder.
The super sports car is designed as a plug-in hybrid vehicle combining a high-performance combustion engine with cutting-edge electric motors for extraordinary performance: on the one hand, the dynamics of a racing machine boasting more than 770 hp, on the other hand, fuel consumption in the region of three litres per 100 kilometres. Moreover, Porsche is breaking yet more new ground with the technology demonstrator with spectacular solutions such as the full carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) monocoque with unit carrier, fully adaptive aerodynamics, adaptive rear-axle steering and the upward-venting “top pipes” exhaust system. In the process, the 918 Spyder is offering a glimpse of what Porsche Intelligent Performance may be capable of in future.
