Sony is expected to release its Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium at the IFA Berlin event today. However, a new leak shows us detailed images of all the devices – the Xperia logo is engraved on one side, while the volume, camera, and power buttons are on the other side. The power button is said to also function as a fingerprint reader, while on the design front we can see the SONY name in the middle of the back with a small NFC logo above it.
The very anticipated 23MP camera can also be seen on the top-left corner. The device is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC, and will have 3GB of RAM, 32GB storage, and an 8MP front facing camera, while the very anticipated 23MP camera can also be seen on the top-left corner.
Further reports suggest that the Z5 premium might come with a 5.5-inch 4K UHD display, the Z5 will have a 5.2-inch 1080p display, while the Z5 Compact is expected to have a 4 inch 720p display. All three devices will come with batteries that are said to last for up to 2 days. Watch this space for more.
According to recent reports, the iPhone 6S Plus’ front panel has been leaked, with images showing a larger front camera. Apparently an Apple component store got early replacement units which shows a similar design but with a Force Touch controller.
The changes for the 6S is expected to be mostly internal – better cameras, selfie camera on the front will be above the earpiece and will go up to 5MP with 1080p video capture.
The newly leaked panel is in white, thereby not confirming the rumoured Rose Gold variant. Stay tuned, the Apple event will be held on the 9th of September, and we will bring you all the updates.
According to reports, the new iPhone will cost the same as the current one. The iPhone 6s is presently said to arrive at 699 euros which is Rs.52,084 approximately, for the 16GB version. The 64GB version is said to be 799 euros which is Rs.59,529 approximately, while the 128GB version might be 899 euros which is Rs.66,980 approximately.
These figures have been quoted by a Dutch blog called Tech Tastic and also says that the 6S Plus will cost 100 euros more for the same amount of storage space. These new reports seem to clear doubts about a speculated increase in storage space, with Apple having already stated that people don’t really need more space since they’re using the cloud to store their documents and pictures anyway.
“The belief is more and more as we use iCloud services for documents and our photos and videos and music” said marketing executive Phil Schiller.
Just a few days before Sony reveals its devices, there is a leaked hands-on video of the Xperia Z5 Premium. Sony is expected to also launch the X5 Compact and Z5 Premium along with the Z5.
The leaked video shows Marketing Director of Sony Mobile France, talking about the device and what you can expect from it. Therefore, according to reports, the Xperia Z5 Premium will come with a 5.5-inch 4K UHD display, while the Z5 will have a 5.2-inch 1080p display. All three devices are said to be arriving with a 23MP primary camera with the ‘fastest autofocus on the market’ of 0.03 seconds and improved low light performance. Apparently, you will also be able to pick the resolution in an all new Superior Auto mode, between 8 megapixels (16:9), 20 megapixels (16:9), and 23 megapixels (4:3).
These new devices will also have a new fingerprint sensor on the side, will be waterproof and the microUSB port will be capless. All this will come with a battery life that is said to last for 2 days. The phone is said to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB storage, and an 8 megapixel front facing camera.

Apple’s latest edition of their smartphone is all set to be launched on Sept 9th. However, with leaks and information of the devices all over the internet, it seems that the new iPhones will disappoint many.
New leaks from the Netherlands have confirmed that the price of the iPhone will remain at €699 for the 16 GB, with the 64GB and 128GB versions priced at €799 and €899 respectively. Which not only means that Apple will continue selling the low capacity 16 GB version, but it will also be at the same price as the iPhone 6.
It also has become known, thanks to cnBeta, that the new iPhones will have reduced battery capacities with the iPhone 6S at 1715 mAh and iPhone 6S Plus at 2750 mAh vs the iPhone 6 at 1810 mAh and iPhone 6 Plus at 2910 mAh.
This is potentially the worst of the news, as iPhones are already heavily struggling with battery life. Despite many power enhancement updates in iOS 9, a bigger battery is always more appreciated. Also considering that the newer “s” version iPhones usually have a bump in hardware, power consumption might get affected.
The new iPhones are also expected to be heavier that the predecessors, by a few grams. But according to several sources, Apple is looking to reduce the thickness of its already delicate smartphones.
bendgate on the iPhone 6 Plus
Apple suffered heavy bad media last year thanks to the “bendgate” issues. A thinner iPhone may not be the company’s best bet. However, good news around the new iPhones’ construction is the use of 7000 series Aluminium, which is stronger and more resilient. You can also expect Apple to reinforce the iPhones with a stronger inner structure.
One of the main reasons of the success of the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones has been their cameras. With the iPhone stuck in the 8MP cycle for many a years, the company is expected to bump up the camera to 12 MP. This will allow the phone to capture 4K video, however this will not make the camera near as high resolution as the 16 MP sensors from Samsung. We can also not expect the Aperture to be around f1.9, the new iPhones are expected to keep f2.0 – f2.2.
4k video also takes up more storage, which means that buyers of the 16 GB variant will be suffering major with storage issues. They would then be forced to upgrade the iCloud storage and dump their files on that, or look for alternatives.
The new iPhones are going to keep the design from last year, which also may disappoint many buyers. With the S6 Edge the new benchmark of design, those looking for a new iPhone will need to push their purchases to next year and wait for the iPhone 7.
There have been rumours about Sony’s alleged upcoming phone – the Xperia Z5. But as of today, reports suggest that there have been press images of the upcoming smartphone. The renders have not been confirmed, but according to them, we should see a 23MP main camera with 1/2.3” Exmor RS sensor.
This new camera is also expected to have an advanced focusing capability due to a hybrid autofocusing system. The alleged press images also show the smartphone in three colour variants – white, gold, and a shade of turquoise. However, the overall design of the phone looks to be the same.
As mentioned, there have been no official confirmations about this phone, but they are expected to make their official debut on September 2nd, 2015. At this event, one can perhaps expect an unveiling of an Xperia Z5 Compact and an Xperia Z5 Premium too.
The OBI Worldphone, designed by San Francisco based product studio Ammunition, have introduced two high-quality smartphones – the SF1 and the SJ1.5, both priced at a reasonable rate for buyers in Asia, Africa and Middle East. OBI Worldphone is brand new company founded by (former Apple CEO) John Sculley and Robert Brunner.
The SF1 is a 4G/LTE smartphone featuring exceptional photography and audio capabilities. It has a 5 inch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and comes with a “fiberglass body and metal accents at the top and bottom of the phone.” It also supports a long-life, quick-charge battery, and a dual SIM slot with micro secure digital (SD) expansion. The price quoted for this device is $199 that is approximately Rs.13,135 with a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. However, there is a second variant of this phone that comes at $249, which is approximately Rs.16,444 and comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.
The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and comes with a 13MP camera with a Sony IMX214 Exmor sensor. The camera also supports a Qualcomm ChromaFlash camera feature to click two photos – one with flash, one without. After taking the picture you can select your focus through the Qualcomm UbiFocus camera feature. Even after that you can zoom in using the Qualcomm OptiZoom camera feature. So, you see how this phone is more of a camera than a smartphone? Nowadays a phone is judged by how intense their camera is, not communications or network or anything like that.
Anyway, they also have Dolby Audio which, according to the company, delivers some ” powerful and crystal clear surround sound though the device speakers and with headphones”. Luckily in case you’ve forgotten that this is also supposed to be a phone, it even features the Qualcomm Quick Charge 1.0 power management technology and runs on the Google Android Lollipop.

Last year, Apple had trouble dealing with Bendgate for the iPhone 6 and now Samsung is dealing with ‘Pengate’ on its new Galaxy Note 5. The recently launched handset comes with a standout 5.7 inch and the ability to write notes on the screen with the S-Pen even when the phone is locked. The Pengate is being called merely a misplaced pen, while reports point out that the main problem with the Note 5 is not the phone in itself but the stylus.
It has been found that the stylus can be inserted back into the slot in one correct way, otherwise it gets stuck. Moreover, after freeing the stylus, apparently the phone’s ability to automatically detect the stylus’s removal is no longer works.
Samsung has put out a statement saying:
“We highly recommend our Galaxy Note 5 users follow the instructions in the user guide to ensure they do not experience such an unexpected scenario caused by reinserting the S pen in the other way around.”
So, basically now if you do not pay heed to the instructions then it’s your fault not theirs. And if you’re in a rush while handling the device and mistakenly insert the stylus backwards, it is your fault not theirs.
This isn’t the first time smartphone users have had a problem with their new device. Previously, the iPhone 4 had come with the ‘antennagate’, and users were asked not to hold the iPhone in a particular way. In short, a smartphone is only as good as it’s user, whether it’s an iPhone or Samsung.
This is perhaps the most exciting leak for today – the much anticipated iPhone 6S has now been leaked. There is a video and some images showing us all we need to know, about the upcoming iPhone’s exciting features, such as, the Force Touch and the A9 chipset.
The images are said to reveal an iPhone 6s logic board with components such as the rear shell and battery, both of which enable the device to display a screen showing a gear icon. The video shows us the boot up process, logic board, LTE baseband modem and its radio frequency transceiver chip.
The first feature that we are most excited about, is perhaps the Force Touch, but the device that has been leaked does not prove the existence of the feature yet. However, there are some differences that have been noticed in this device, as compared to the iPhone 6, such as the shielding on the rear of the display being glued in place rather than screwed in.
Secondly, the pictures apparently also suggest that the iPhone 6s logic board will include Qualcomm’s WTR3925 radio frequency transceiver chip, in order to pair with the new modem for better cellular network.
Last but not the least, the pictures received by the source unfortunately do not show the presence of an A9 chip. The logic board seems to be a pre-production product unit and hence is said to be missing the A9 stamp and markings that could have revealed how much RAM is included in the package.
All this information however, has not been confirmed by Apple itself. So we will just have to wait until September 9th to see the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The event is also rumoured to feature announcements including a revamped Apple TV with support for Siri control and third-party apps.
Sony has recently put out up a teaser, of what is being rumoured to be the new Xperia Z5. The teaser mentions a ‘greater focus’ feature, which perhaps suggests a phase detection system.
The company used their official Twitter account to reveal:
It is known that Sony has already implemented this in the Xperia M5, so therefore it seems likely. But there have been no official announcements. Even the idea of a Z-series is speculated, however, there have been many leaked images of an alleged Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact.
All we can do now, is wait for the IFA Berlin event and see what happens. Watch this space for exclusive updates.
