  • HTC A16 Leaked Image Reveals a Funky New Smartphone

HTC A16 Leaked Image Reveals a Funky New Smartphone

While the world is busy thinking about the One M10, HTC’s upcoming flagship smartphone that is scheduled for an April launch, a new HTC device has just been leaked by popular tipster @evleaks. The device is called A16 and is likely to be one of the mid-range smartphones from the company and could be HTC’s MWC product.

The image posted on Twitter shows the device in six great colour options. The different options combine two to three colours for a very funky looking phone.  Apart from that, you get a nice look at the front and back of the device and there’s plenty to see here. What’s more, looking at the A16, there is plenty that isn’t seen in the One M10. The A16 shows a very HTC Desire-like design.

    HTC A16

The front shows off some large bezels and the HTC logo on the front. The top and bottom house the BoomSound speakers and the grills look a tad different which isn’t such a bad thing. The right side has the volume rocker and power button. Over on the back, one notices something interesting on the bottom. There are two holes which may just be a third speaker or strap holes though it’s hard to tell at the moment. Meanwhile, the camera is placed at the top left corner with the LED flash just below it.

Now, from what the images reveal, the A16 does look pretty funky and looks to aim a younger demographic with its look. The design of the A16 on first glimpse looks a lot more appealing than what the alleged One M10 renders and live images have revealed. We’re not sure when the A16 will come out yet and we have no detail on its specs. The A16 could be unveiled at the MWC seeing as how the One M10 has been pushed to April.

  • HTC One M10 in White Leaked in Live Image

HTC One M10 in White Leaked in Live Image

A couple of weeks ago, popular leaskster Evan Blass leaked a live image, albiet poorly lit live image, of an alleged HTC One M10 in black. Today, Blass posted another image of the device in its white option. The image is a lot clearer and shows off the front really well, although we still do not know what the sides or the back look like apart from some renders.

    HTC-One-M10-White

Right off the bat then, the live image of the HTC One M10 is similar to the previous one and supports rumours that the device is based on the HTC One A9. It’s safe to say that HTC has created an uninspiring new flagship, at least on the design front. The One M10 clearly ditches the BoomSound dual front speakers for a cleaner, bezel-less look, and you also see a physical home button there.

However, it is necessary for HTC to come out with an absolutely special phone if it wants to make a dent in the market, seeing how the One M9 and the One A9 did not fare well. What was expected from the company is an absolutely original design, something unique more along the lines of the One M7. We’re not sure if HTC has played it safe, going with an A9-like design and standard 2016 specifications. We’ll have to wait until April for the company’s standalone event to see just how the One M10 (otherwise called Perfume) will turn out.

The rumoured specs of the One M10 suggest a 5.1-inch QHD AMOLED touchscreen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset powering the device with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a microSD card slot. On the camera front lies a 12 MP UltraPixel rear camera with laser autofocus and optical image stabilization. The device will likely run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with HTC Sense 8 atop.

Leaked Images of Lumia 850 Suggest a 5.4 Inch Screen

The leaks suggest the screen-size to be marked at 5.4 inches, along with a front facing flash and something that could potentially be an iris scanner for Windows Hello. Leaked iPad Air 3 Case Images Suggests Potential Design Changes

Apple will hold a press event in March where it will announce new Apple Watch models along with a new and updated iPad Air.  Latest update from this front comes in the form of a leaked case design for the iPad Air 3 which suggests potential design changes.

The image that appeared online shows a cut-out for the Smart Connector. Apple had introduced this feature first in the iPad Pro, to ensure stable connections with other devices. Looks like the Smart Connector could feature in the iPad Air 3 as well.

    iPad Air 3 cover

The leaked design also shows four cut outs for speakers -a feature reported only a couple of weeks ago. The cut-out for the camera on the back is also longer and bigger, hinting at the presence of rear camera flash for the device.

However, rumours that stem from cover designs should be taken with a hint of salt. Cover designs are often conceptualised and circulated without an official confirmation from the company, as is true for this iPad Air case as well.

The iPad Air 3 is expected to be launched in March, alongside iPhone 5se and the new Apple Watch variants.

The phone’s power button will be on the side, and a FaceTime camera also housed left of the earpiece.

Hardware-wise, the latest rumours suggest that the iPhone 5se will come equipped with an A8 chipset, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, an 8 MP rear camera, and a 1.2 MP front snapper. A march Release date is expected for the phone.

  • iPhone 7 To Include Improved Speaker System

iPhone 7 To Include Improved Speaker System

Today’s dose of iPhone leaks and rumours brings to us news which will be music to curious ears. After angering audiophiles world over with its alleged decision to do away with the headphone jack, the Cupertino based company is now is looking to atone for its sins by planning to equip the next iPhone with a new and improved speaker system.

Latest set of patents doing rounds on the internet reveal Apple is looking at ways to boost the audio for the iPhone 7. As suggested by the patents, the next iteration of the iPhone could have significantly improved sound output.

    apple-iphone-5s-gold-speakers-headphone-jack-audio-quality-review-somegadgetguy

Apple is to create a new sound system for the iPhone 7 which will use the entire phone as an audio chamber. The idea is to use the phone’s interiors to improve the amount of air that can pass through the speaker system, thus resulting in better volume output as well as audio quality. This new system adopted by Apple would also see the phone keeping up with the rumoured sleeker form of the phone.

    The patent reads,

“As portable electronic devices get smaller and thinner, there are increased difficulties in providing the same or greater functionality in a smaller area. The one or more speakers of the system can produce audio sound that can be directed to one or more audio output openings.”

The interpretation of this patent information also hints at a better system for audio input which would essentially mean an upgrade to the phone’s microphone too! Nice try Apple, but the loss of the 3.5mm jack still hurts.

The G5 which has been rumoured to get an earlier than usual launch date is being tipped to be unveiled next month in Barcelona. LG for its part has today only added fuel to fire by sending out invites to the media for an event on February, 21. The invite does not reveal much, but only states, “Play Begins” with a mysterious jack-in-the-box music player in the background. What this could possibly point to is a music focused flagship for this year.

    LG-G5 rumour 1

LG on its part has usually unveiled its G series flagship phones later than its competitors Samsung, and HTC, and has lost out in sales numbers because of it. This switch in strategy could well see it substantially increase sales in important markets.

It’s also suggested that LG G5 might include an eye scanner, USB-C connectivity and a fingerprint sensor. There are also whispers suggesting that the device might come with some sort of modular attachment. Well, what that attachment could be is anybody’s guess right now. The stylish addition of leather to the back of the handset could also be seen in the new flagship.

Leak Suggests Confirmed Names for Samsung Galaxy S7 Devices

Samsung is all set to host an Unpacked event on 21st February at the Mobile World Congress, and we expect it to unveil the Galaxy S7 devices there. Rumours about the S7 phones are doing the rounds to no end and here’s the latest update from that front.

Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and S7 Edge+ will be the three devices expected to be unveiled on the 21st of February. The tweeted image shows the three names written against a background with water-droplets on it. This image only seems fitting since the Galaxy S7 phones are expected to be waterproof like the Galaxy S5 from 2014.

However, because Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed these names, we still cannot be sure. There could also be a Galaxy S7+ but there isn’t much to go on with for this device.

  • Microsoft Working on a Snapdragon 820-Powered Windows Phone

Microsoft Working on a Snapdragon 820-Powered Windows Phone

Microsoft might have a new device in the works that going to rock Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 chipset. Geekbench database revealed that Microsoft is working on a faster, more powerful device than the recent Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones. Before moving on, it must be known that the listing cannot be confirmed and must be taken with a pinch of salt.

According to the Geekbench listing, the unnamed Microsoft phablet will sport a 6-inch display (2560×1440 pixels). Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset will be powering the device along with a 2.2GHz quad-core Kyro CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU. The GFXBench also lists internal specs such 20MP primary camera, a 12MP selfie shooter, and 64 GB of internal storage.

    Snapdragon-820-Microsoft-Lumia-2

The listing does seem a little off as well, mentioning RAM at 1.5 GB only, though it is likely to be twice as much given the specs of the device. Furthermore, the chances of the device being a new Lumia phone is high, since Microsoft is the only manufacturer currently developing high-end Windows 10-powered devices.

These are just speculations as of now. We’ll know more in the coming months on whether Microsoft is in fact working on a 6-inch Windows 10 phablet powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.

  • Xiaomi Mi 5 Could Arrive in Two Versions

Xiaomi Mi 5 Could Arrive in Two Versions

It’s not uncommon at all for OEMs to release more than one options for flagship devices. Samsung, Apple, and Sony, among others, have been doing that for a while now, and if latest rumors are to be believed, Xiaomi is planning to do the same with its upcoming Mi 5 flagship smartphone.

A mobile industry insider let it slip that Xiaomi could have two variants for the Mi 5 up its sleeve. While one will sport a 2.5D curved glass for the front and back with a metal fame, the other will be a more premium version with an all-metal body. Furthermore, the former is said to have a 1080p resolution, while the latter (pricier) variant will sport a QHD resolution display.

    Xiaomi Mi 5

However, the size of both the variants will remain the same. If this new rumor is true, Xiaomi is likely to offer the glass version with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, and the full-metal handset with 4 GB and 64 GB storage. Meanwhile, yesterday’s leak also confirms a black color variant for the device.

Other rumored specs include 3GB or 4GB RAM, with a minimum of 32GB internal storage. The camera on the device is expected to be a 16-megapixel at the back, and an equally impressive 13-megapixel snapper at the front.

This power hungry device is set to pack a battery of 3600 mAh with support for Quick Charge 3.0 technology. At the software end, the handset will run MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Xiaomi is set to launch the Mi 5 on January 21.
