  • Nokia N900 gets Ice Cream Sandwich, we say wooo!

A hacker with his estranged N900 has managed to get some desert love on his not so shiny N900. The hack is an extremely early build and is even referenced as being “pre-pre-alpha,”. But still to have Google’s latest OS running on a N900 will give some Nokia fanboys a thrill they could have had, but may now never get. Nokia+Android.

  • RIP: Nokia 600 ended, before it truly began

RIP: Nokia 600 ended, before it truly began

The Nokia 600 was a replacement to the long series of Nokia Music phones. But looks like the company is no longer interested in selling this particular device. This is another sad demise of a Symbian device, truly sad. The company’s taken down any pages on its websites that are related to the product from the main and developer websites. The device ran Symbian belle and had a 360 x 640 pixels, 3.2 inches display with full multitouch support. The device also had a 1 GHz processor, 2D/3D graphics HW accelerator, which would have made it a fast and responsive device.

The thing is, after careful consideration, we have decided not to ship the Nokia 600.

RIM releases BBM SDK for WebWorks, Allows integration with Apps

RIM at their DEVcon forgot to mention that they will be releasing the SDK for their social instant messenger to the developer world, for integration within apps and notifications. The service will allow apps to initiate chats and incorporate BBM statuses, avatars and personal messages. The SDK will also allow “application-to-application background communication,” file transfers over the protocol and sharing apps between users.

This may change the outlook of blackberry devices, even though their future now looks bleek to us.

ALL Existing Windows Phone 7 Devices to get the official Mango Update within 2 weeks

According to Microsoft’s official Windows Phone Blog, the Windows Phone 7 Mango Update should be available to all existing WP7 devices within another week or two. The Windows Team indicates it won’t be pushed to your phone OTA when the time comes, so you’ll need updated versions of the Zune for PC or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac installed on your computer.

Looks like this time around the Update may come out the same day, unlike with No-Do when it was over several weeks.

This modder hacked his 3 day old device to charge via the dock using bolder moves. cutting open the back cover and soldering the wires right onto the board. • Samsung Trying to kill Wave owners by letting everyone upgrade to Wave 2.0

Samsung Trying to kill Wave owners by letting everyone upgrade to Wave 2.0

Its the classic case of “we want you to buy new devices” Wave 2.0 is said to be considerably heavier than the existing version. As in the case of iOS 4 for iPhone 3G , You basically get half the features of higher end phones, a lot of lag and crashing and a chunk load of disappointment all around. Lets hope that this is not the case with BADA 2.0 as SAMSUNGBADA twitter account has updated saying that all existing bada devices get Bada 2.0, but not all get all the features.

Looks like its gonna be one big battle b/w users, Samsung and App devs (most of whom are already dreading different formats from Bada OS)

    Ready for battle – round 1 – …………………….
