OnePlus 5T Listed For Pre-Order On Chinese E-Commerce Site

OnePlus 5T rumours are picking up pace and it appears that a Chinese website is prepared for the imminent launch already. Oppomart, a Chinese e-commerce website has listed the OnePlus 5T for pre-orders and the specifications match the latest rumours about the highly speculated device from OnePlus.

When the OnePlus 3T was launched with a newer chipset, a lot of OnePlus 3 owners were upset as the 3T was launched less than 6 months after the OnePlus 3 was launched. OnePlus responded to the backlash and said that the OnePlus 3T was an anomaly and a ‘T’ device won’t be launched again. The OnePlus 5T has been leaked in promotional images and renders and it appears that the new phone will finally see much thinner bezels with a similar looking back panel with the addition of a fingerprint sensor.

Just like the OnePlus 3T, the OnePlus 5T is expected to be an incremental update rather than a drastic new upgrade in terms of hardware. The 5T is expected to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset as it is the current flagship chipset. The dual cameras at the back are also expected to be the same as found on the OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus 5T is expected to be launched some time in November, similar to when the OnePlus 3T was launched. As is with every leak or rumour, we advice you to take this leaked image with a pinch of scepticism until there is a concrete statement from the company about its plans of launching the OnePlus 5T.

OnePlus 5T Leaked In Another Image, Shows New Design

OnePlus 5T rumours are picking up its pace and the latest one sheds more light on what we can expect from this device. The latest leaked image comes from a ‘trusted Android Authority source’ and looks like a promotional image of the upcoming OnePlus 5T.

Since it might be a promotional image, the phone isn’t visible in its entirety. The key elements of the design however, can be figured out from the image. As is visible in the image, the bezels are much thinner than the OnePlus 5. The aluminium frame and a bottom-firing speaker on the left side is also visible. That’s not too surprising, as the 5T will most likely feature a similar chassis to that of the OnePlus 5. We cannot confirm whether the 3.5mm headphone jack will retain its place in the ‘T’ variant of the OnePlus 5. The fingerprint sensor will also either be moved to the back of the device or will be housed inside the lock/unlock button (similar to what Sony does). As we reported earlier, another leaked image of the OnePlus 5T had the fingerprint sensor placed at the back of the phone just above the company logo.

  • OnePlus 5T With Slim Bezels Leaked In Images Again

OnePlus 5T With Slim Bezels Leaked In Images Again

The OnePlus 5T has been leaked again on the Chinese social networking site, Weibo. There have been plenty of leaks and “credible sources” claiming that the OnePlus 5T will indeed be launched in November with a new design language. Unlike the incremental upgrade from the OnePlus 3 to 3T in 2016, this year’s OnePlus 5T might see a huge departure from the design language that OnePlus devices have followed. Releasing the OnePlus 5T will solidify OnePlus’ launch pattern that OnePlus is trying to set in the market, much like what the company did with the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.

The leak is in line with some of the previous renders and leaks. The phone in the image has a tall display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The bezels are considerably thinner than the OnePlus 5. For the OnePlus 5T the fingerprint sensor is moved from the home button, as there is expected to be no home button, to a rear placed location above the OnePlus logo. The dual cameras are placed identically and the slate grey colour is the same found on the OnePlus 5.

When the OnePlus 5 was launched, one of the major criticisms it faced were the thick bezels around the display, especially after it was dubbed as the “flagship killer.” Launch of the OnePlus 5T will add the company to the list of Modern 2017 smartphone makers with a low bezel / bezel less design

There is no official word from the company and the social media handles of OnePlus have not dropped any hints about an event or a launch of a new phone. These leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt until there is an official announcement from the company.

    OnePlus 5T Press Renders Leaked

OnePlus seems to be gearing up to launch the OnePlus 5T by the end of 2017. Unlike the incremental upgrade from the OnePlus 3 to 3T in 2016, this year’s OnePlus 5T might see a huge departure from the design language that OnePlus devices have followed. New renders leaked by SlashLeaks show minimal bezels and a tall display on the OnePlus 5T. Releasing the OnePlus 5T will solidify OnePlus’ launch pattern it is trying to set in the market, as it released the 3T a few months after the OnePlus 3 was launched in mid-2016.

The edges are curved and the bezels remind us of the Samsung Galaxy S8 which is not a bad thing, because the Galaxy S8 is one of the best looking devices of 2017. This might open doors for a comparison between the two phones, just like the OnePlus 5 was compared with the iPhone 7 Plus when it was launched. It seems like OnePlus will have to do something drastically different to avoid a yet another comparison for its flagship device.

The new phone is expected to have a 6 inch 2160 x 1080 px display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. When the OnePlus 5 was launched, one of the major criticism it faced was the thick bezels around the display, especially after it was dubbed as the “flagship killer.” OnePlus is trying to rectify that criticism by reducing the size of the bezels on the OnePlus 5T. The hardware will remain the same, just like it was when the OnePlus 3T was launched.

There have been reports that the Slate Grey variant of the OnePlus 5 has gone out of stock in several regions including the UK, which it claims indicates that OnePlus is indeed looking at launching the new model.

OnePlus 5T To Be Launched In November

There have been reports suggesting that OnePlus will drop the 5T and instead release the OnePlus 6 in early 2018. Now, GizmoChina has reported that the OnePlus 5T is indeed in the pipeline and might be released as soon as November 2017. Releasing the OnePlus 5T will keep up the launch tradition that OnePlus is trying to set in the market, as it released the 3T a few months after the OnePlus 3 was launched in mid-2016.

Where the OnePlus 3T was an incremental upgrade with just a newer chipset, the OnePlus 5T will be a considerable upgrade over the OnePlus 5. The new phone is expected to have a 6 inch 2160 x 1080 px display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. When the OnePlus 5 was launched, one of the major criticism it faced was the thick bezels around the display, especially after it was dubbed as the “flagship killer.” The OnePlus 5T will have minimum bezels and feature a tall display, like a lot of flagship devices of 2017.

The report also mentions that the Slate Grey variants of the OnePlus 5 are out of stock in several regions including the UK, which it claims indicates OnePlus is indeed looking at launching the new model.

The renders revealed show what the OnePlus 5T might look like. The edges are curved and the bezels remind us of the Samsung Galaxy S8 which is not a bad thing, because the Galaxy S8 is one of the best looking devices of 2017.
