OnePlus has been known to refresh its smartphone lineup rather swiftly. It launched the OnePlus 3T a few months after the launch of the OnePlus 3 and followed the same strategy with the OnePlus 5 and 5T. One smartphone that has not seen a successor yet is the OnePlus. The OnePlus X was OnePlus’ ultra-affordable device that was launched in September 2015. Even though it had a premium build and good enough specifications, the device failed to make an impact in the market.
A new rumour claimed that the company was working on a successor to the OnePlus X, the OnePlus X2. While the information that was leaked appeared plausible, the company has come out and said that there will be OnePlus X2.
While this pretty much confirms that the OnePlus X2 was barely a thing of someone’s imagination, it could be a good device if it were true. According to the rumour, the OnePlus X2 would have reverted to the 5.5 inch display with a 1920 x 1080 px resolution.
It goes on to claim that due to the surplus of Snapdragon 835 chipsets, the company will use these chipsets for the OnePlus X2. Although that could have been the case, OnePlus recently announced its best ever year by revenue. This means that the company sold a lot of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T which were powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.
The price of the smartphone was predicted to be in the region of US$ 250 (Rs. 16,000 approx.). At such a price with the Snapdragon 835 chipset and a build quality similar to the predecessor, this device would have been a mid-range killer.
OnePlus X goes invite-free and is now on open sale…forever. A video of an incredibly excited Bobba Fett (pay attention, Star Wars fans) doing a happiness-jig is here to convey the same.
The announcement was made on OnePlus’s official forum. The post also announced free standard shipping for orders above $100 (about Rs. 6,800).
“…we hope that this development will make the process of purchasing your very own OnePlus X as smooth and effortless as it can possibly be,” says the company..
OnePlus also announced a slight hike in the price of its power banks. After seven calendar days from the day of the announcement, the OnePlus Power Bank would be priced at $19, instead of the previous $14.99. Additionally, shipping regulations inhibit the order of more than two Power Banks. If the order includes 4 units, it would automatically be split into two separate orders.

OnePlus X Ceramic limited edition goes on sale starting today. However, needless to say, an invite would be needed for the purchase. A standard OnePlus X invite won’t work though, it has to be a specific Ceramic variant invite that would let you buy the phone.
OnePlus had earlier tweeted about how the OnePlus X Ceramic variant would go on sale on 24th November. The phone was indeed put up on sale following this announcement, but only only a handful of units were made available as part of a charity auction. But if you have been eyeing the OnePlus X Ceramic variant for a while now, here’s your window.
The variant of the phone is being made available as a limited edition only in select markets which include India, Hong Kong and Europe. Additionally, the company had also revealed earlier that only 10,000 units of this OnePlus X variant would be made available. Additionally, the company has also put up OnePlus X on open sale today.
A new OS is on its way to the OnePlus X, and no, it won’t be a new Android update. Instead, OnePlus X owners will be receiving a new Oxygen OS update that promises to bring several enhancements to the MicroSD card support.
The latest Oxygen OS 2.1.3 will bring UX improvements, along with exFAT SD card support, and the ability to move apps to and from the card. It also fixes a bug that caused the handset to reboot whenever you removed the SD card.

OnePlus has also stated that there are some unnamed security patches as well as “general bug fixes and optimisations”. The new Oxygen OS update rollout starts from today, though only 10% of OnePlus X users out there will receive the update as of now. This is to test if the update works well. The update will rollout to a wider audience in a few days.
The OnePlus X has been around for some time now, but there’s a new version that will soon hit the streets. OnePlus has announced that apart from the glass back variant, they will also be releasing an exclusive ceramic edition of the OnePlus X. Reports suggest that this new version should become available on the 24th of November 2015.
The Ceramic Edition will cost 269 British Pounds (Rs. 27,015) or 369 Euros (Rs. 25,976) depending on where you are. Only 10,000 units of this phone will be produced and will not be available for sale in North America.

The OnePlus X smartphone was launched last month in many countries. Now, the mid-range smartphone makes its way to the U.S and Canada. The OnePlus X is available for order starting today. But as is always the case with OnePlus, the latest device will only be available via invite system.
OnePlus continues to stick to its much-maligned invite system, so those who’ve managed to get the invite will be the only ones excited about the launch of the device. Others will just have to fish for an invite elsewhere.
The OnePlus X sports a 5-inch AMOLED display (1920×1080), with a primary camera of 13 MP and a 8 MP front. The device runs on a 2.1 GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset. It features a 3 GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage and is expandable up to 128 via MicroSD card slot. The phone includes an alert slider, like the one found on OnePlus 2. The OnePlus X weighs around 138 gm for the Onyx variant and a heavier 160 gm for the Ceramic variant.
The Oneplus X is the company’s second phone this year, but in all likelihood will be their flagship of 2015. The OnePlus 2 did not achieve the goals the world had set for it and the OnePlus X revives expectations for the company once again. But does it live upto them ?

In the past one week we have seen a number of smartphone launches under the 20K range. The OnePlus X that was officially launched on the 29th of October gave fans many reasons to cheer for the company. Today, it was Micromax’s turn to please the crowd with the launch of the Canvas 5.
Both OnePlus X and the Canvas 5 have been designed to please the eyes. Two other phones that come under the same banner are the Moto Gen (3rd Gen) device that was launched in July this year and the Xiaomi Mi4i that came out in April.
Starting from the earliest then, the Xiaomi Mi4i has a 5-inch Full HD OGS IPS display with 441ppi pixel density. The phone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Cortex-A53 processor. It features 2GB of RAM and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company’s MIUI 6. The two cameras include a 13MP in the rear and a 5MP in the front. The dual-SIM device is powered by a 3120mAh battery. Connectivity options include Micro-USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi.
Moto G (3rd Gen)
The Moto G (3rd Gen) with the rounded design and silver accents has a premium look and feel to the device. The device has a 5-inch 720p display with 1280×720-pixel resolution and 294ppi. It is powered by a 1.4GHz Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 2,470 mAh battery that can last roughly up to a day. The handset is available in two variants- 8GB storage with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage with 2GB RAM.
OnePlus X
The OnePlus X is a mid-range phone that aesthetically looks high-end with ceramic-glass and onyx variants for the back. It features a 3 GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage and is expandable up to 128 via MicroSD card slot.
Micromax Canvas 5
Finally, the Canvas 5 also wins in the design department with curved metallic edges, a plastic back panel that has a leather-like feel to it, and at 8.5mm thickness the device is pretty slim. In another of its firsts, OnePlus has now launched a photography app called Reflexion. It has been released as an inspiration of OnePlus X, celebrating OnePlus’ latest device.
“Inspired by our latest device, Reflexion…easy-to-use photography app that explores contrasts and harmony in everyday moments. Capture your world, express your unique personality and share it with those you care about,” says the company.
The app is available for download on both iOS and Android devices. Basically, what the app does is take two photographs, one from the front camera, the other from the rear camera, and it stitches them together in an X-pattern on your screen. Like almost all other photography apps, Reflexion allows for easy sharing options of the picture on social media.

Don’t get too carried away by the fancy video though. We’re not too sure how exciting an addition Reflexion is to the app-world, especially post the song and dance of OnePlus X earlier this week. You can find more information about it on Reflexion’s official website, or you can check out the Google Play listing.
Are you as impressed by Reflexion as OnePlus would want? Let us know in the comments below.
After teasing audiences for a while on social media, OnePlus launched OnePlus X in India today. The company launched its predecessor, OnePlus 2 in July this year. OnePlus 2 had been made available for sale on an invite-only basis initially, but later it was put up for open sale as well.
OnePlus X
The glass ceramic limited edition variant of OnePlus X costs Rs. 22,999. The price is same as that of the 16 GB variant of OnePlus 2. However, the 16 GB variant of OnePlus 2 is priced at Rs. 22,999 which is far ahead from the Rs. 16,999 of OnePlus X onyx-back variant.
OnePlus X has only one storage option which is 16 GB, but it’s expandable upto 128 GB with the help of a microSD slot. Find a comparison of the specs of the two OnePlus devices below and let us know which one you would be willing to stake your money on.

In addition to the above mentioned specs, OnePlus X has dual sim, two variants -one with an onyx back, the other with a glass-ceramic back which is a limited edition variant, 11 mm drivers and is available in two colours -gold and graphite.
We had earlier reported that OnePlus’ latest smartphone will be launched in India on the 29th of October. The company has indeed lifted the veils off the OnePlus X today. This is the third entry in the company’s lineup and it falls under a whole new category for OnePlus – not exactly a mid-range device but also not a ‘flagship killer’.
The OnePlus X was touted as a smaller version of the OnePlus 2. Recent leaked images also suggested that the company was not going with the OnePlus 2 design for the X, which made sense given the poor response towards the OnePlus 2’s look.
The phone was launched today in New Delhi. The GM of OnePlus India, Vikas Agarwal, said that the OnePlus X is made for a design conscious user and brings a feeling of high quality. The company has introduced for the first time a glass-ceramic variant for the phone. The OnePlus X onyx will come with a black glass plate and round edges while the OnePlus ceramic comes with angled edges that will reflect light. The ceramic variant is limited edition with only 10,000 units available.
The specs of the phone keep with past rumours.
As expected, the OnePlus X is available through invite only. The handset comes at a very affordable price tag of Rs. 16,999 for the onyx variant and Rs. 24,999 for the limited edition ceramic body. The price is great for a phone that aesthetically looks high-end but isn’t. The device will be sold exclusively on Amazon from the 5th of November. Have a look at the spec table below.
