    YU Releases JYUICE Power Banks

YU has released two power banks marked at 5,000 mAh and 10,000 mAh capacity respectively. The durability of the banks definitely seems like an interesting feature. The gadgets are damage resistant and equipped with enhanced durability through Delicate Sand Blasting and Aluminium Alloy Anodizing, protecting them from degeneration, corrosion or rusting. The Aluminium Alloy outer shell of the chargers are hand-crafted with rounded edges and an 8-mm super-slim body, making them light and portable. variant

The JYUICE manages to adjust the power output depending on the device connected to it and provides protection from electrolyte leakage. An LED light on the side updates the user of the status of the battery of the power bank itself. The price of the two variants is Rs. 699 ($10) and Rs. 1099 ($16).

It would be interesting to see JYUICE pitted against three important competitors which are all offering similar, or perhaps better, features within the same price bracket. There is Xiaomi Mi Powerbank priced at Rs. 999 which provides 10,400mAh of battery. This is followed by Asus ZenPower priced at Rs. 1,599 for 10,050mAh of power lastly, the OnePlus powerbank which costs Rs. 1,399, weighs and comes with 10,000mAh of power. Canon’s New Tiny Video Camera Is For Filming Yourself Doing.. Whatever

The Canon’s Vixia Mini is a Wi-Fi enabled camcorder that is said to be designed to help you document your everyday life in more detail than has ever been possible.

We believe VIXIA mini will be different from any old Flip camera you’ve got tucked away in a drawer somewhere. It is said that the $300 VIXIA Mini weighs just about 158 g and is slim enough that you can tuck it away in your pocket until it’s time for action.

Canon’s idea is that you can carry the Vixia Mini around with you wherever you go and then when the moment is right, the camera will be there for you. You can pop-out the built-in legs and the 2.7-inch touchscreen and hit record. The screen tilts 170 degrees so you can look at yourself while you’re doing whatever it is that you thought important enough to record. The built-in Wi-Fi allows you to control the Vixia Mini remotely via a smartphone app, and also transfer the 1920 x 1080 mp4 videos (or 12.8 megapixel stills) to other Wi-Fi devices.

    VIXIA mini white

VIXIA mini gives you the power to create images with spectacular depth, detail and emotional resonance. The 12.8 Megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor works in concert with Canon’s DIGIC DV 4 Image Processor to create the renowned Canon HS SYSTEM. We think with the Canon HS SYSTEM, you will experience excellent tracking performance even in low light. The Canon HS SYSTEM lets you capture clearer images with reduced noise and blur in a variety of situations for incredible video and photos.

VIXIA also have Interval Recording which we believe will give you and the viewers a fascinating look at slow-moving changes. VIXIA records still images or half-second video clips at intervals you determine (5, 10 or 30 seconds; 1 or 10 minutes), with playback in flip-book style. This mode can be perfect for recording plant growth, cloud movement, tidal changes, light effects from dawn to sunset and so much more.

While in Close-up Mode, users can record a centered 1920 x 1440 resolution image with little distortion. They can also quickly toggle from one shooting mode to the other, or switch back and forth between video and image mode, by touching the camcorder’s innovatively designed 2.7-inch capacitive-tilt touch panel LCD display. Attached to the camera by two parallel hinges, the Vari-Angle LCD monitor allows for various shooting styles, including low-angle shooting, normal and high-angle-shooting and self-shooting.

In addition, the camcorder’s 12.8 Megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS image sensor combined with the Canon DIGIC DV4 Image Processor creates the Canon HS SYSTEM, allowing shooters to capture and record stunning Full HD video in MP4 format as well as jpeg still images to a removable microSD card, all in the exceptional image quality standard that the Canon line of VIXIA camcorders are known for. The camcorder’s video image quality is further enhanced with the use of a Mechanical Shutter for the recording of moving subjects with little distortion. Beyond delivering high-quality video, the VIXIA mini compact personal camcorder also records high-quality audio thanks to its built-in stereo microphone. By using Audio Scene Select modes, users can choose an audio scene that matches their surroundings such as music or speech or even suppressing road noise.

“The new VIXIA mini compact personal camcorder marks the birth of an innovative video camera designed specifically for the social media savvy user,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon U.S.A. “This uniquely styled compact personal camcorder allows users to shoot, view and share videos and photos of themselves enjoying their hobbies or special occasions with family and friends.”

    Tools to Become the Star
The Canon VIXIA mini compact personal camcorder comes with a feature set that puts the user in the driver seat, expanding their creativity, allowing them to not only be the director of their videos or images, but also the star. New Special Scene Modes such as Food & Fashion, Sports, and Macro provide users with advanced presets to help capture impressive images even under difficult shooting conditions to prevent over/under exposure. For those looking to shoot in a fun and unique perspective, the camcorder’s Slow Motion or Fast Motion modes provide imaging effects that allow creativity in controlling space and time. Slow Motion allows shooting video at a choice of two slow motion speeds – 1/4x (VGA) and 1/2x (720p) allowing viewers to easily see and closely examine video of dancers or other fast moving subjects. Fast Motion allows shooting at two fast motion speeds – 4x and 2x – ideal for speeding up footage of cooking, makeup, nail art, etc.

The camcorder’s Smart Auto Mode allows the beginning user to capture those spontaneous moments with a touch of the screen. Smart Auto intelligently selects one of 38 predefined situations to give outstanding video and still image output.

The VIXIA mini compact personal camcorder comes with a built-in adjustable stand allowing users to tilt and elevate it up to approximately 60 degrees providing a new way to record video hands-free, and the camcorder’s tripod socket also allows for flexible positioning of the device. And an automatic lens cover helps protect against scratches and dust when the camera is not in use.

Advanced Connectivity to Help Users Share Their World

  • The Razer Blade Laptop

    The Razer Blade Laptop

Razer, nVidia and Intel have teamed up to create what they call the worlds first “True” gaming laptop.

Dubbed the “Blade”, the laptop is made with an aluminium body that’s only .88″ thick, weighs 3.2 Kgs and houses some pretty mean hardware. It features a 17″ 1920 x 1080 px LED display which is powered by an nVidia GPU and the latest generation Intel Core i7 processor.

The laptop also has a back-lit keyboard as well as Razer’s Switchblade interface which consists of ten programmable tactile keys and an LCD which doubles as a multi touch input and a display for in-game information when the system detects an external mouse being used. Each of the ten buttons can be programmed for in-game commands/actions and they can also be assigned an image which would be displayed on the in-built LCD.

It also features a HD web-cam and is expected to retail for around USD 2800 later in the year.

  • Introducing the USB Vault

    Introducing the USB Vault

Are you paranoid about your data? Have you ever misplaced (read lost) your pen drive? Is software encryption not good enough for you? If you answered yes to these questions, then have we got the device for you!

A Russian designer felt that his data wasn’t secure so he drafted up a design in AutoCAD and came up with this device. It adds a layer of physical security to a regular pen drive by adding a five wheel combination lock to it. Specifics are scarce but we believe the device was laser-cut from the design and is made of brass.

Not only does the device look cool, but it appears to be secure as well. We’ve lost our fair share of pen drives over the years, but we imagine that with such a device, if nothing else, our data WILL be secure.

  • Windows 8 Can be Run from a USB Stick

Windows 8 Can be Run from a USB Stick

A leaked copy of Windows 8 spread like wildfire in the recent week. Daily new tidbits and features are being discovered about the new mammoth from Microsoft. The newest information rocking the market is the fact that the user with a retail disk can make actual usb copies of the operating system and carry them, like portable ubuntu.

This could also give piracy a whole new push with cds becoming the old and portable os becoming the new. Bootable Windows 8 on a USB 3.0 drive anyone? As tempting as it may sound, a minimum 16GB pendrive is required for the task and looks like USB 3.0 is yet to be found commercially.

SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES ITS NEXT GENERATION PORTABLE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM

Ultimate Portable Entertainment System Makes Its Debut This Year,
Further Expanding the PlayStation® Business in the Portable Gaming Market

Tokyo, January 27, 2011– Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) today announced its next generation portable entertainment system (codename: NGP), which delivers the ultimate portable entertainment experience. NGP will make its debut at the end of the year 2011.

NGP is designed to offer unparalleled interactive entertainment that is only possible on PlayStation®. This new system offers a revolutionary combination of rich gaming and social connectivity within a real world context, made possible by leveraging SCE’s experience from both PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) and PlayStation®3 (PS3®) entertainment systems.

Deep and immersive gaming is at the core of PlayStation’s DNA, and NGP is the latest embodiment of this vision. By having both Wi-Fi and 3G network connectivity, together with various applications, NGP will enable infinite possibilities for users to “encounter,” “connect,” “discover,” “share” and “play” with friends wherever they are. Within the device are a range of features that provide a genuinely cutting-edge, next generation ultimate portable entertainment experience.
?Stunning OLED and Revolutionary User Interface

NGP incorporates a beautiful multi-touch 5-inch organic light emitting display (OLED) as the front display. A high-performance CPU / GPU combined with OLED enables rich, visually striking graphics never seen before on a portable entertainment system, for both games and other digital entertainment content. The new system also incorporates a unique multi-touch pad on the rear, and together with the front touch display, NGP offers new game play allowing users to interact directly with games in three dimension-like motion, through “touch, grab, trace, push and pull” moves of the fingers.
?Super Oval Design and Dual Analog Sticks

While succeeding the basic design philosophy of PSP, NGP adopts the Super Oval Design form factor, created to fit comfortably in users’ hands. For the first time, a portable entertainment system will feature two analog sticks, which enable a wider range of game genres to be brought into the portable experience.
    ?LiveArea™

Every game title for NGP will be provided with a space called “LiveArea™” where users can share the fun and excitement with other players. Users will have access to the latest information of games provided from SCE and 3rd party developers and publishers through PlayStation®Network. Additionally, NGP users will be able to view an “Activity” log that is constantly updated with accomplishments from users who are playing the same game, which in turn can trigger active real-time communication among users.
    ?Near

SCE will also provide location-based services on NGP as part of the basic features utilizing PlayStation Network. The new application called “Near,” developed specifically for this service and the network, will be pre-installed in the system to let users find out what their friends in the vicinity are playing now or what they were playing recently. Users can meet their friends and new players virtually, regardless of what games they are playing, simply by sharing their game information across different dimensions of time and distance.
    ?New Game Medium

NGP adopts a new game medium, a small flash memory based card, dedicated for NGP software titles. Taking advantage of the flash memory feature, this innovative card can store the full software titles plus add-on game content or the game save data directly on to the card. By adopting flash memory based card, SCE will be able to provide game cards with higher capacity in the future, allowing developers to store more game data to deliver rich and immersive games.

NGP will also come equipped with two cameras on its front and rear, as well as three motion sensors, gyroscope, accelerometer and electronic compass, all of which are designed to enable users to enjoy the world of entertainment that is linked with real life experiences.

PlayStation®Suite (PS Suite), announced today, will also closely coordinate with NGP. The newly developed and released game content for Android™ based portable devices can also be enjoyed on NGP. As a result, users will have access to not only the most leading-edge content, but also some of the more casual experiences that typify the mobile market place.

SCE will vigorously promote NGP towards the launch as the next generation portable entertainment platform and deploy various measures to further expand the portable gaming market.
