Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Leaked In Live Images

Ever since the Xiaomi India’s head, Manu Kumar Jain tweeted an image of “i” launching in India, the speculations of the Redmi Note 5 have soared high. It was revealed later that the “i” stood for India as the Chinese smartphone maker launched a Made In India Mi Power Bank 2i. Now, the leaks of the Redmi Note 5 have surfaced again, this time in live images.

According to the image, the Redmi Note 5 will have Snapdragon 625 chipset. The phone also has a 5.99 inch display with a very 2017-like 18:9 ratio and Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 px) resolution.

The phone shows 54GB of storage available, meaning that the variant in question here is the 64GB unit. There is at least one camera with a 12 MP sensor and the smartphone runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The device appears to be powered by a 4000 mAh battery and due to thin bezels, the fingerprint sensor is placed at the back of the phone, much like the Redmi Note 4.

The Redmi Note 5 will be a successor to the Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi’s most successful phone in the Indian market.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Listed Online As Launch Seems Imminent

Xiaomi’s most successful line of smartphones in India, the Redmi Note series might be getting its new flag bearer very soon. The Redmi Note 5, apparent successor to the hugely successful Redmi Note 4 might be coming to India soon.

A recent listing on a couple of e-commerce websites have shed some light on what the Redmi Note 5 might have to offer when it launches.

The Redmi Note 5 will sport a 5.99-inch display with a 2160 x 1080 px resolution, and as rumoured for weeks, will feature an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The listing suggests that the Redmi Note 5 will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, but, since that is an old chipset, expect the Snapdragon 630 chipset instead. The device is also expected to be launched in a couple of variants, one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage and the other one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. As is with a lot of Redmi Note phones, the Redmi Note 5 is also expected to be powered by a massive battery.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Leaked In Specifications

The Redmi Note 4 is one of the most popular Xiaomi phones in India as part of the highly successful Redmi Note series. A lot will be expected from the successor of the Redmi Note 4. Recently a few leaked images of the Redmi Note 5 gave us a glimpse of what it might look like, and now the smartphone was spotted on the certification website, TENNA.

The listing on TENNA falls in line with the previous renders suggesting an 18:9 aspect ratio. However, according to the leak, the device will have a single-camera setup at the back, contrary to previous leaks that suggested a dual-camera setup. There is a possibility that the dual camera version can be one of the variants of the new Redmi Note 5. Under the hood, Xiaomi could go for the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset which will enable mid-range devices to have bezel-less displays with FHD+ resolution. The smartphone will feature a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, while the front of the phone will sport a 5MP camera. The Redmi Note 5 is expected to be powered by a 4000 mAh battery.

Xiaomi has also launched the Redmi 5A in China and as was with the Redmi 4A, the Redmi 5A might make its way to the Indian market in early-2018.

The company had launched the Redmi Note 4 last year in August and has completed its update cycle. Xiaomi might launch the new Redmi Note 5 early next year. As far as pricing goes, the phone might be launched in the same price segment as the previous Redmi Note devices but, due to the bezel-less design and one of the variants might have dual cameras, the pricing could be similar to the Mi A1 or the Mi 5X around Rs 15000.

    Leaked Specifications:

    Display – 18:9 aspect ratio

    Chipset – Qualcomm Snapdragon 636

    Battery – 4000 mAh

OS – Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 With Bezel-Less Design Leaked

Xiaomi has been known to launch multiple smartphones across the price range in a year and 2017 seems to be no different. After launching the Mi A1 with stock Android and the Mi Mix 2 with tri-bezel less display, it looks like the Redmi Note 5 is not too far away from an announcement. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 seems to have been leaked and the images reveal a large display and very thin bezels. Large displays aren’t new to the Redmi Note lineup but, considering its entry-level price point, a bezel-less display looks like very interesting.

One thing that might change from the leaked image to the actual device could be the white bezels. As far as specifications are concerned, there isn’t much known about the Redmi Note 5. Xiaomi might go for the Helio P25 or P30 chipset this time around. Prior Redmi Note devices have had the Snapdragon chipset and previous reports hinted towards a Snapdragon 660 chipset. As is with all Redmi Note phones, it will be a powered by a massive battery, probably a 4000 mAh battery.

The images also reveal a dual-camera setup which will be a first for this lineup. After the Mi A1’s launch, it won’t be surprising if the Redmi Note 5 with dual cameras is launched in India. Although, the Indian variant will definitely have a Qualcomm chipset.

The company had launched the Redmi Note 4 last year in August and has completed its update cycle. Xiaomi might launch the new Redmi Note 5 early next year. As far as pricing goes, the phone might be launched in the same price segment as the previous Redmi Note devices but, due to the bezel-less design and dual cameras, the pricing could be similar to the Mi A1 or the Mi 5X.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Renders Suggest Thinner Bezels And Dual Cameras

Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi Note 5 might have thin bezels and a dual camera setup. Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Note 5A and the Redmi Note 5 is expected to be the bigger sibling of the two.

According to leaked renders shared by 91Mobiles, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 might have a 5.5inch 1920 x 1080 px display with thin bezels. The Redmi Note 5 may have a dual-camera setup at the back, which is expected to be a combination of a 16MP and 5MP sensors along with dual-tone LED flash. On the front is expected to be a 12MP camera.

The Redmi Note 5 will have a metal unibody design reminiscent of the Redmi Note 3 and Note 4. The fingerprint will found in a similar centrally located placing at the back. The three navigation buttons will be placed below the display as Xiaomi refuses to take the onscreen button route. On the top of the phone will be a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster. The device is expected to be have either the Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 660 chipset based on the 14nm process. The smartphone is also rumoured to be available in three variants, one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage, and the one with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage. The device is said to be powered by a 4000 mAh battery and support quick charge through the USB Type C port placed at the bottom of the device. The Redmi Note 5 will run Android 7.1 Nougat with Xiaomi’s custom skin, MIUI 9 on top.

The price of the Redmi Note 5 is expected to be similar to that of the Redmi Note 4. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant might be priced at 1200 Yuan (Rs. 11800 approx.), 4GB RAM and 32GB storage at ,400 Yuan (Rs. 13700 approx.), and the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant at 1500 Yuan (Rs. 14700 approx.).

At the end of the day, these are renders and not actual phone leaks so take them with a pinch of scepticism. There is no rumoured date of launch yet for th Redmi Note 5 but, similar to the Redmi Note 4 the phone might be launched globally early in 2018.
