    Asus ROG Gaming PCs & Laptops Launched In India

    Asus is well renowned for its Republic Of Gaming sub-brand that offers gaming machines or gaming-related peripherals. The company has announced refreshing its ROG lineup in India with new releases in the Zephyrus and Strix ranges of gaming laptops. The company had updated the Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX01 and ROG Zephyrus S GX531 earlier this year in March. Now, Asus is introducing its newest iteration of the aforementioned laptops. 

    Asus ROG Zephyrus M GU502

    The Asus ROG Zephyrus M GU502 is a Windows gaming laptop that sports a 15.6-inch FHD IPS Pantone display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and response time of 3ms. It is also equipped with the Intel’s 9th generation processors alongside NVIDIA GeForce 1660Ti graphics card. The GPU is tweaked for a max clock speed of 2100 MHz in Turbo mode with ROG Boost. The new gaming laptop features an “intelligent” cooling system with 83 blade fans.

    It supports an ESS Sabre HiFi digital to analogue converter (DAC) with Hi-Res Audio certification and M.2 NVMe SSDs for up to 1TB of RAID 0 storage. Notably, the Zephyrus M can be charged through its USB-C port via a mobile power bank. The keys are backlit with RGB lighting and configuration allows for up to 32GB of RAM. Asus ROG gaming laptop offers up to 6 hours of battery life and weighs a light 1.9kg. Its starting price in India is INR 1,49,000.

    Under Asus’ ROG Strix series of gaming laptops, new models have been unveiled for gaming enthusiasts. The ROG Strix Scar III and Hero III models are esports ready and feature a removable NFC module called Keystone. It allows gamers to move their saved profiles from one compatible laptop to another. The Keystone has a function that unlocks hidden storage areas on the owner’s laptop. The Scar III and Hero III have been launched in 15 inch and 17 inch variants that can be configured with either Intel’s 9th Gen i7 or i9 CPUs. Both laptops are offered 144Hz or 240Hz refresh rate display options. Due to its gaming nature, these laptops will have RGB LEF strips along with their bases with an RGB keyboard.

    The Asus ROG Strix III G531 lineup is equipped with NVIDIA’s latest GeForce RTX 20 series graphics card ranging from the RTX 2060 to RTX 2070; while the Hero III sports an FTX 1660Ti video card. The laptops feature a 15.6 inch IPS display with up to 240Hz refresh rate offering and a 3ms response time. The laptops can be equipped with the latest Intel 9th Gen i9-9880H CPU with the same intelligent cooling system and RangeBoost algorithm for better connectivity. It can house up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB storage. These laptops weigh 2.395kgs and their prices start from INR 1,39,000.

    Finally, the Asus ROG Strix G Edition G531 and G731 series of laptops offer a 120Hz display with a response time of 3ms. The gaming laptop feature a 9th Gen Intel i7-9750H CPU paired with up to NVIDIA GeForce 1650 GPU. The laptop will also include Intelligent cooling and RangeBoost algorithm. the ROG G531 has its prices start from INR 59,990 on Flipkart, while the G731 will sell for INR 79,990. The later will go on sale in the second half of July.

    Asus has also announced its range of gaming desktop PCs alongside its laptop counterparts. The Asus ROG Huracan G21CX, Asus ROG Strix GL12CX, and the Asus ROG Strix GL10CS desktops. The G21CX features up to NVIDIA RTX 2080 GPU with Intel Core i9 CPU on the Z390 motherboard which has overclocking capabilities. The gaming laptop will support up to 32GB RAM and offers 512GB M.2 SSD and 2TB storage. It will sport front and rear speakers with inbuilt WiFi, Bluetooth, Microphone and various USB ports and audio jacks. The machine is bundled with ROG Strix Flare keyboard and ROG Gladius II Mouse and starts from INR 1,99,990.

    Asus ROG GL12CX PC packs the latest i9-9900K CPU which is factory overclocked to 5.1GHz. The laptop features NVIDIA’s RTX 2080Ti GPU alongside two M.2 SSDs and Intel Optane memory. It also offers up to 32GB RAM along with front and rear speakers. Under connectivity options, inbuilt Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microphone, headphone jack, USB Type-C, USB Type-A ports are offered. The Asus ROG Strix GL12CX price in India starts from Rs. 1,49,990.

    Finally, the Asus ROG GL10CS is a customisable desktop with CPU ranging from 9th Gen i5 to i7. The graphics card options go up to NVIDIA’s RTX 2060. It features two isolated air chambers for housing its CPU and GPU completely separate from its power supply unit; ensuring clean airflow and preventing heat generated from the CPU and GPU to affect the PSU and storage drives. The PC will support up to 8GB RAM with 256GB of M.2 SSD. The Asus ROG GL10CS PC starting price is INR 61,990.

    ASUS ROG Launches RTX Powered Gaming Laptops & Desktops In India

    ASUS ROG unveiled its latest lineup of gaming laptops including the ROG Zephyrus S GX531, ROG Zephyrus S GX701 and ROG Strix SCAR II on March 11, 2019. In addition, the company also launched an RTX powered gaming desktop: the GL12CX. ASUS claims that each one of these devices offers best-in-class cooling to deliver “sustained gaming performance”.

    The GX531 features a 15.6 inch Full HD IPS display, with 144 Hz refresh rate, 3 ms response time and full VR compatibility. It packs an Intel Core i7-8750H hexa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, which can be overclocked to 3.9 GHz. The laptop is kitted with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, which has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Furthermore, the GX531 has 8 GB of onboard DDR4 RAM, with expansion support up to 24 GB. It has two M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 slots and a 512 GB SSD.

    The gaming laptop doesn’t sport a mechanical keyboard, however, it has a Backlit Chiclet Keyboard with N key rollover. The Zephyrus S GX531 supports Aura Sync, using which users can synchronize RGB lighting patterns across the supported peripherals. It has two 2W speakers with an Array Microphone. Interestingly, the laptop is bundled with a webcam (for streaming or video calling) that can be attached to any part of the laptop for preferred angle capturing.     The GX701 gaming laptop sports a 17.3 inch Full HD IPS display, with 144 Hz refresh rate, 3 ms response time and VR compatibility. Under the hood, It packs an Intel Core i7-8750H hexa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, which can be overclocked to 3.9 GHz. For graphics, the laptop is kitted with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, which has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. The GX701 has 8 GB of onboard DDR4 SDRAM, with expansion support up to 24 GB. It has four M.2 NVMe PCI-E 3.0 slots and a 1TB SSD. 

    The GX701 has a similar backlit chiclet keyboard to the GX531 except for the Per-Key RGB feature on the GX701. It supports Aura Sync too, and has two 2.5W speakers for audio output. In terms of ports, the ASUS laptop has 1x USB3.1 Gen2 Type-C port, 1x USB3.1 Gen 1 Type C port, 1x USB3.1 Gen2 Type A port, 2x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type A ports, 1x HDMI 2.0b port, 1x 3.5mm headphone and microphone combo jack and 1x Kensington lock. It weighs at 2.7 kg.

    It is priced at Rs. 3,49,990 and will be available for purchase in April 2019.

    The ROG Strix SCAR II laptops are specifically designed for Esports, the company states. It has a 15.6 inch Non-Glare Full HD IPS Panel with 144 Hz Refresh rate and 3 ms response time. It packs an Intel Core i7-8750H hexa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, which can be overclocked to 3.9 GHz. The laptop features the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, which has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. The GX701 has 8 GB of onboard (dual channel) DDR4 SDRAM, with expansion support up to 32 GB. It has a M.2 NVMe PCIE 3.0 slot and a 512GB SSD, along with a 1TB FireCuda SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive).

    In addition to a backlit chiclet keyboard, the SCAR II’s keyboard has 4 extra hotkeys, which can be used to increase/decrease volume, mute the microphone and launching the ROG Armoury Crate (ASUS software to optimize games and save RGB profiles). The laptop has two 3.5W speakers with Smart AMP technology and features a similar webcam attachment to the GX531 and GX701. In terms of ports, it houses 1x USB3.1 Gen2 Type-C port, 2x USB3.1 Gen 1 Type C port, 1x USB3.1 Gen2 Type A port, 1 x mDP 1.2 port, 2x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type A ports, 1x HDMI 2.0b port, 1x RJ-45 Jack, 1x SD card reader, 1x 3.5mm headphone and microphone combo jack and 1x Kensington lock.     The ASUS GL12CX is kitted with an Intel Core i9-9900K processor octa-core processor clocked at 3.6 GHz, with a max turbo frequency of 5 GHz. The Intel Z390 motherboard in the desktop also houses the NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2080 GPU with 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM. The desktop can support up to 32 GB of DDR4 of RAM, and it has 2 DIMM (Dual in-line memory module) slots. The Desktop also features a 512 GB SSD and a 2TB HDD.

    The GL12 CX is priced starting Rs. 1,23,990.

It is a truly gaming centric phone that has been built with gaming needs in mind. Asus’ only gaming smartphone- the ROG Phone is priced at Rs 69,999. Let’s dive into it’s features and see what it has in store for gamers.

    Before we get into the gaming centric features, let’s look into the specifications that make it a phone and not just a gaming device. The ROG Phone features a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 6 in the front and a 3rear Corning Gorilla Glass design. The phone boasts of an Adreno 630 GPU and has options of up to 8GB RAM and up to 512GB ROM. The ROG Phone also has a two camera setup at the back that feature a 12 MP and an 8 MP sensor. The front camera of the phone is 8 MP, f/2.0 which is a decent camera for a gaming phone. Other than that it has all the regular features such as a rear mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensors and a compass. The ROG Phone also features a 4000 mAh battery. This is both great for intensive gaming as well as for a regular heavy user.

    Being a gaming phone, one can only expect good things from this phone. The ROG Phone features a 3D vapour-chamber cooling system. It is a four-speed fan system that can cool the surface of the phone by up to 4.7°C. It has what Asus calls ultrasonic AirTrigger touch sensors. These are basically programmable shoulder buttons when the phone is used in landscape mode for better gaming. Asus seems to understand gaming needs quite well which is evident from the placement of side-mounted ports which makes it easier to play games on the phone in landscape mode while charging simultaneously. The AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time. For the uninitiated, a normal IPS display has a response time of around 4 ms.
    The phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC clocked at up to 2.96GHz.
