    Samsung Launches the Galaxy J3 (6) in India

    Samsung has launched the Galaxy J3 2016 edition in India today with some improvements over the past years model.

    The new J3 6 has a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display. The handset is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and has 1.5GB of RAM.

    With 8GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). The Galaxy J3 6 still runs on Lollipop and has the Samsung Touchwiz Style UI on it. Launched for a price of Rs. 8990 the J6 is expected to compete in the lower than 10k spectrum where presently the Chinese players are shining.

    As far as optics are concerned the J3 (6) features an 8 + 5 MP camera combination and is 4G capable along with a 2600 mAh battery.

    Another feature of the phone is the “S-Bike” Mode which will allow users to tap a NFC sticker to enable a Do-Not-Disturb mode of sorts. Designed for Bikers, this mode will allow users to play Pre-Recorded messages like “I’m riding at the moment, I’ll call you back later”

    After receiving TENAA and 3C certifications this month, Samsung’s new smartphone Galaxy J3 has now been listed on the company’s China website. However, the name of the device has been slightly altered, it’s called Galaxy J3? now.Samsung Galaxy J3

    In terms of the specs, the phone packs a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU, along with 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display. It further has a 1.5 GB RAM and 8 GB of expandable internal memory. The battery is marked at a 2600 mAh. The main and the front cameras are marked at 8 MP and 5 MP respectively. With a measurement of 142.3 x 71 x 7.9 mm, the device weighs a 138 g. Samsung Galaxy J3 1

    Though the TENAA certified model was running on Android 5.1.1, the official listing doesn’t mention the operating system of the phone. Milk Music app and a Smart Manager tool are some of its other highlights on the software front. The official listing also doesn’t mention the price and the availability of the phone in other markets. Watch this space for more updates.

    Samsung Galaxy J3 Passes FCC, To Launch Soon

    It’s hard to keep up with the number of devices under Samsung’s belt. It seems like everyday sees a new Galaxy phone being launched. The company recently launched a new line of budget smartphones as the ‘On’ series. Now, Samsung is expected to come out with a successor to the J2 (which was launched in September this year), the Galaxy J3.

    Early last month, the J3 was listed on GeekBench and has now passed the FCC. This means that the device could be made official soon. The certification documents only reveal that the device carries a model number of SM-J3109, and was tested for 2G, 3G, and LTE.

    From what the GeekBench listing has told us, Samsung’s Galaxy J3 sports a 5-inch 720p display and is powered by a Snapdragon 410 SoC with 64-bit Cortex-A53 CPU. The handset comes with a 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which is expandable, an 8MP primary camera and 5MP front. The phone will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
