    Micromax SuperFone Lite A75 Hands On

     

    We just got hold of a unit of the Micromax A75 SuperFone and we couldn’t wait to get our hands on with the device. Before i get down and dirty unboxing the unit, here are a bunch of sneak peak images for the A75.

    The build quality of the device is fairly surprising, its really well built. The overall form factor and shape feels really good in the hand and fits well. First impressions of he unit show that the display is bright and vivid and the screen is very responsive. The device does not show lag or slow down while moving from screen to screen or navigating the menus. The device comes preloaded with Android 2.3.4 and is supposedly good enough for Ice Cream Sandwich, But no official words on that. (We are still struggling with 2.3 on A70). The device is more expensive looking than it actually is. It also comes with unique UI enhancements done by Micromax that make the experience a little better. 

    Specs include a 650Mhz processor, a nice 3.75 inch 320×480 capacitive screen, Android 2.3.4, 10.9 mm thickness, 1300 mah battery, the standard Wifi b/g/n- Bluetooth 3.0. Not to forget the fact that this is a dual sim phone, both gsm+gsm.

    Most of Micromax’s new marketing and dev team is from HTC so you will start to see some Ui flavor(maybe its because i already know this fact). The device is an excellent add on the the Under 10k list and will definitely make the holiday list of the phones to get under 10k.   • Future Phones to have smudge free screens, thanks to German Researchers

    A group of researchers have found a way to create smudge free glass that could be used in the touchscreen phones of tomorrow, to prevent  fingerprints.  Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz applied candle soot to glass and then coated it in silica to keep it in place. The glass is then heated to 600 ºC for calcination, which makes the soot transparent

    To test,  different oils and solvents were applied, but the glass’ superamphiphobic properties stayed on. The future could be fingerprint-free for all our shiny new devices.

    The highly awaited sequel of the HTC Sensation, the HTC Sensation XE is all set to launch in the UK on the 7th of October 2011. It seems like the company is eager to push out its revamped device to the users/consumers, just before the next Apple device can launch. 
    Sources close to iGyaan have told us that the company plans a launch of the devices in Europe including UK and Asia including India in the first ten days of October 2011. The revamped handset boasts a bunch of improvements over the original Sensation including a faster processor.
    Price for the UK remains at £410 (£492 inc. VAT) and the device is expected to HIt India at the 32,500/- Rupees price mark with a significant decrease to 28,500/- within 15-20 days of launch. The box of the Sensation XE will come bundled with urBeats in-ear headphones from Monster Cable (part of Beats by Dre)

    Whats beter than a mass of Android tablets being put to good use by the big folks at Boeing. The aerospace company has exclusively selected Google’s mobile OS as the might behind its new class of 787 Dreamliners’ in-flight entertainment. 

    Fitted with 10-17inch Panasonic screens, more than 800 of these aircrafts are currently in production, and the company is exploring alternative ways for users to interact with the devices. The touchscreen input may not be feasible since the screens may be too far for a traveller to constantly tap. Boeing is currently playing with the idea of a gesture controlled tablet device.

    HTC has finally intro’d the long rumored HTC Sensation XE, the new smartphone will have a revamped 1.5 GHz processor and beats audio. Now the unit itself essentially is the same with a qHD display (540 X 960) resolution and boasts a larger 1730mAh battery.

    This Special edition unit will come with a set of Beats by DRE Headphones and 8/16GB microSD cards and a remote control that allows audio track management. The Sensation XE is slated to launch in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East sometime this month.     MS has filed for multiple patents including, Muti-screen dual tap, on-off gesture, Muti Screen Pinch and expand, Muti-screen – Hold – Expand- page flip and radial gestures. Microsoft has not yet been awarded with these patents. But looks like the whole Tablet frenzy has been fueled by the Apple Patent Lawsuits.

    Samsung has also tied up with Vodafone to offer 3G data.

    New Delhi, July 19, 2011: Micromax Informatics Limited (“Micromax”), the third largest mobile brand in India, has set a new trend in the growing smartphone category with the launch of A70 today, the latest android device offering from Micromax with a capacitive touch screen and a dual camera for a better user experience.

     

    The A70 comes with a 3.2” TFT HVGA capacitive touch screen, 65K color display and a resolution of 320×480 pixels. It runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and is powered by a 600 MHz processor, which helps you achieve your desired tasks much faster. The A70 is also equipped with a 5.0 MP primary camera and a VGA secondary camera.

     

    The A70 is a 3G enabled device which supports download speeds upto 7.2 mbps and upload speed upto 3.6 mbps. The phone is also compatible with multiple audio/video formats and with the help of Officesuite Viewer ensures you that your work never suffers, even if you are on the go. The phone also boasts a gravity sensor and a proximity sensor making your web browsing experience even better.

    Apple – Stylus Patents Approved

    Apple had applied for two patents for styluses for capacitive touchscreens and other surfaces last year, but the US Patent office has approved them only yesterday. The first patent is for a stylus with a heated conductive tip which would be charged when it is inserted back into the phone to be used with touchscreen devices.

    The second patent is for a stylus which could be used to write on any surface, with the results appearing on a computing device; a phone, tablet or computer, which is programmed to receive the input. This would be similar to the already existing Livescribe pen. These patents leave us wondering just what kind of devices does Apple have is store for release.
