ViewSonic launches 3 dual sim phones with Ice Cream Sandwich

ViewSonic has just released three new smartphones into the market the 4s (not to be confused with iPhone 4s ), 4e and 5e.

The ViewPhone 4s features a 3.5-inch 960 x 640 Super Clear IPS LCD (identical to the real 4s) along with a five-megapixel camera, a VGA front-facing imager and a 1GHz chip, the second device the ViewPhone 4e has a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 LCD, a slower processor at 650MHz only, a three-megapixel camera and one extra touch button. The third one aka the 5e has a lower 800 × 480 resolution and a larger 5 inch screen.

ViewPad 7x and 10pro and cheap 7e Tablets Announced

Viewsonic is taking its tablet business seriously, and has announced the impending launch of three new tablets – The ViewPad 7x, ViewPad 10 Pro and the budget friendly ViewPad 7e.

The ViewPad 10 Pro runs Android 2.3 and Windows 7 and will be available from September 5th at €499 (INR 35000) for the WiFi only version.

The ViewPad 7x is a 7 inch tablet and will run Honeycomb with custom, 3D ViewScene skin. It has 8GB onboard, Tegra 2-chipset, launching this month for €349 (INR 25000) The Budget 7e will have a price tab of €169 (INR 12000) , a 7 inch screen a single core processor and 2 point multitouch system, with only 4GB of onboard storage this device will prove to be quite popular as an alternative to the Reliance Pad.

ViewSonic Europe targets prosumer market with Dual-SIM Android Smartphone and Windows/Android dual-boot Tablet device

Devices to be previewed for the first time in Europe at Mobile World Congress on stand 2B77 Hall 2.

Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, 11 February 2011 – ViewSonic Europe, a global provider of computing, consumer electronics and communications solutions, today announced the launch of its new Dual-SIM Android Smartphone, the V350 and its new 10 inch professional tablet PC, the ViewPad 10Pro. Both products have been designed to enable users to easily access both their work and personal life via just one device and will be previewed for the first time in Europe at Mobile World Congress (2B77 Hall 2) on 14 February 2011.

The V350 Smartphone with 3.5 inch display is an active Dual-SIM device running the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, enabling the use of two network services at the same time. Its Dual-SIM capability is ideal for businesses wishing to provide staff with a mobile device that can offer separate numbers and bills for both personal and business use. This feature also enables travellers to carry just the one phone whilst still be able to take advantage of different pricing plans and network offers for voice and data in various countries. Android 2.4 (still Gingerbread) supposedly coming in April – on the Viewsonic ViewPad

Pocket-lint is reporting, that the Viewsonic Viewpad, sporting Android 2.4, instead of intended Android 2.2 is all set to launch in April this year.

According to their source, however, that update will not be called “Ice Cream”, instead simply still be called Gingerbread.

The major change in the update is Compatibility with dual-core apps its also the main reasons we’ve yet to see many Android 2.3-based devices hit the market.
