Canon 5D Mark IV Shoots 4K Video Comes with Wi-fi

Canon today announced the new Canon 5D Mark IV, a revision to the camera that started to DSLR video scene back in the day. The 5D will finally shoot 4k video with the 5D Mark IV and will come with inbuilt Wi-Fi.

For the video enthusiast and professional, the 4K Motion JPEG video (DCI cinema-type 4096 x 2160) at 30p or 24p, will allow an in-camera still frame grab of 4K 8.8-Megapixel images. Multiple video options include Full HD up to 60p, and HD up to 120p.

The touchscreen monitor allows tapping to select a focus point, racking focus during video capture, or using familiar swipe and pinch movements during image review. A 3.5mm jack for connecting an optional external microphone to record audio, alternative use of the onboard stereo microphone; a 3.5mm headphone jack can be utilized for real-time monitoring.

When shooting 4K, the central 4096 x 2160 area of the sensor is used at a 1.74x crop in order to record 4K video with a 1:1-pixel ratio.Slow motion is possible in Full HD 1080p at 60 fps, while HD 720p is available up to 120 fps, though it is recorded without sound.

The Canon 5D Mark IV has been launched for a price of $3,499 for body only, and will be available starting September Mid. In India Canon has launched the 5D Mark IV on the 26th of August with a starting price of Rs. 2,54,995 for the body only.
