Samsung Galaxy S III goes up for pre-order in the UK

Three prominent Uk network providers Vodafone, Three and O2  have started taking pre-orders for the next Galaxy, the S3. Since the networks have already started receiving huge numbers of queries, it seems like a good idea to start pre-orders considering the devices should be available end May-early June.

Pricing also seems worthwhile as you can snag the 16GB version for £41 monthly plan on Vodafone, which has some data benefits as well. Hit the links below to find your fix.

HTC One V Unboxing and Hands on

The HTC One V was launched alongside the One X, but kind of remained on the back burner. Powered a single core processor vs the quad+1 core of the One X, the low price of the One V seems justified.

Hold the device in your hand and you are reminded by how HTC’s build quality has always been great, a metal unibody shell surrounds the device and the front sports a 3.7 inches 480×800 px display. On the inside you will find a 1GHz Snapdragon chipset, Adreno 205 GPU, 512 GB Ram and 4GB of storage(which is also consumed by the OS) You can choose to add a 32GB microSD aswell.

At the back of the One V you will spot a 5 MP camera which does do 720p video and there is no front camera. The design element follows on the first few android devices ever made sporting a frontward chin at the bottom of the phone.

The overall size and feel of the phone seems good, and it fits comfortably in the hand or in the pocket.

First Blackberry 10 device leaks, points to London

Oh my dear berry addicts, looks like the world is abuzz with Blackberry news once again. The bitter sweet fruit that has seen a major downfall in the recent years is finally trying to put its pieces together. New prototypes have surfaced for the upcoming Blackberry 10 phone lineup, which the company is supposedly launching this year.

Research in Motion is hosting the BlackBerry Jam event in a few short days where they plan on giving out a few prototypes of the handset running this OS to developers for testing apps and whatnot.

According to various sources this particular unit is only meant for development and is a open version of what may finally become Blackberry london. Some reports also point towards the origins being Blackberry Colt, however that seems highly unlikely.

Either way most analysts are pegging Blackberry’s return time to at least 5 years, we will have to see if these devices help bring it back up.

  • Galaxy SIII Prototype leaked, images, buttons etc

Galaxy SIII Prototype leaked, images, buttons etc

Here it is! or is it? Is this the next Galaxy phone? The Galaxy SIII, launching May 3 2012 has been grabbing a lot of limelight in th east couple of weeks and now as we near the launch a lot of details have been handed out to us.

Looking at the image it appears that the Touchwiz customizations will be very well integrated with the Android 4.0 UI. Also to notice is the positions of the buttons is different, and the presence of a rather large home button of physical nature, which is usually absent in Android 4.0 devices, makes for a unique function of the said “physical home button”.

Well either way, we won’t really know till we know, first week of May 2012.

  • Airtel Launches new 3G plan for Blackberry Post Paid Customers (PR)

Airtel Launches new 3G plan for Blackberry Post Paid Customers (PR)

Airtel has launched a new 3G Data plan for Blackberry users on Airtel postpaid connections. At a price of Rs. 299 per month the user now gets blackberry services on 3G speeds along with 1 GB of data transfer.

    • Upto 1GB of off-device data service usage at 3G speeds free per month
    • Unlimited internet browsing access on the device available at 3G speeds

Of course Airtel was quick to define data usage :

    • Off-device – When BlackBerry device is used as a modem
    • On-device – When internet is used on BlackBerry device
    • Plan costs mentioned available in ICRM are including BlackBerry Internet and 3G plan.
      eg. 1. 399+299 = 698
            2. 599+299 = 898
            3. 898+299 = 1198

Seems like a suitable plan for those with 3G enabled Blackberry smartphones since the 2G networks have been acting up in the past, a bump to 3g might just improve connectivity.
