Mumbai, July 19th, 2012: LG Electronics, a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications, today announced the launch of their 4 new smartphones in India- LG L series (L7, L5 and L3) and LG 4X HD Quad core. These sleek hi-tech phones run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, except for L3 which runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

These high-end phones launched by LG are a seamless amalgamation of style and technology.

The quad-core featuring720p display-flashing LG Optimus 4X HD is a wonderful addition to LG’s mobile family. This 4.7 inch True HD IPS display on the Optimus 4X HD offers a superior high-clarity viewing experience with superb resolution of 1280×720. The phone has a 2150mAh battery, which is the largest amongst quad core smartphones.

The core essence of L style features a timeless design with defined details, which further differentiates LG mobiles from its competition. L-Style’s design philosophy comprises of five elements – Modern Square Style for a comfortable grip, Floating Mass technology for a slimmer look, seamless layout, harmonized design contrast and sensuous slim shape.

“Both L series and LG Optimus 4XHD are feature packed Smartphone, offering a great mix of design, intelligent features, performance and display. These smartphones, with their fast processors and superb display, take user experience to a whole new level. Design has always been a major priority for LG and our design leadership has been well established and consistently maintained. The launch of L series, with L-Style’s design philosophy, is just another milestone and there are many more to come.” says Sanjay Maheshwary Business Head or Head Mobile Communications, LG India.

With the smartphone segment consolidating even further, it’s now apparent that both great software and great hardware should go hand in hand. LG’s 4X HD is our proof that we not only understand our consumers’ needs but also cater to them. The 4X HD also features LG’s new User Experience (UX), which allows users the ability to instantly jot memos or noted from any screen. LG’s 4X HD is a complete package which packs powerful features to back it sleek frame” added Mr. Maheshwary.

One of the biggest mobile buzzwords of 2012 would be quadcore. While quadcore processors have already infiltrated the tech world, these processors have great potential to improve a smartphone’s performance. LG Optimus 4X HD boasts of a 1.5GHz quad core plus 1 processor, NVIDIA Tegra3 which delivers unparalleled speed. When maximum power is needed, Tegra3 automatically activates all four cores, but when less power is required, it defaults to the fifth battery-saver core.

After China, India is the second largest mobile handset market in the world, and the up rise of the smartphone market in India and it is expected to witness 100% growth in 2012 (according to Convergence Catalyst). The growth in smartphones is likely to surpass the overall growth in the mobile handset industry. With over 94% (according to eBay India Mobile Commerce Survey) of the consumers accessing the internet via their cell phones, the use of social networking sites through mobile apps and booking movie and travel tickets online is becoming increasingly popular. Smartphones have now become an integrated part of consumers’ lives, becoming involved in most of their daily activities. Apps like Google maps and Calorie Counter are as absolutely creative as they are useful. Near Field Communication is another trend that is slowly sweeping through the smartphone world. With so much going on in the smartphone market, and its rising popularity, LG is betting big on the further rise of smartphones.

Keeping the current market trends in mind, and anticipating the future trends, LG smartphones would keep evolving consistently to reach that ultimate smartphone future.

HTC HD2 Gets Unofficial Android 4.1 Jelly Bean – Epic Phone

The HTC HD2 has always been the most easily adapted phone when it came to running multiple OS’ . This was the first phone to triple boot Android and Windows phone 7 with Windows Phone 6.5.

Evervolv at the XDA-Developers forums has produced a pre-alpha port of Android 4.1 for the originally Windows Mobile-based phone. The funny thing is that in comparison to other devices, the HD2 build is running quite stably, except the camera, Google Now and web browser.

The build is not meant for day to day use, but the devs are working hard to deliver a fully usable build. And knowing the history of this handset, we don’t fear it too far.

  • Scientists Create Molecule to Make Teeth Cavity-proof

Scientists Create Molecule to Make Teeth Cavity-proof

Scientists have discovered a new molecule that will make your teeth cavity-proof, the formula has been dubber “Keep 32” and can kill cavity producing bacteria in 60 seconds. The researchers claim that the flexibility of the molecule allows it to be added to any substance like toothpaste or mouthwash, even chewing gum and candies.

The scientists have said that the product/formula needs to be in your mouth for at least 60 seconds for it to make your teeth cavity proof.  It will eliminate the dreadful cavity causing Streptococcus Mutans and will prevent its regeneration for many hours.

The research on the molecule began in 2005 and has now been fully developed, the scientists plan to license the formula to companies like Colgate, PnG etc. They will also be licensing it to candy companies.

Do you know Foxconn? Its the same company that makes most of the high end electronics for major manufacturers around the world, including Apple, Amazon and Most PC manufacturers. The Model dubbed AT-5250 is essentially a Nettop, will run on a 1.86 GHz D2550 Intel processor. The other one the AT-5600 will pack a Radeon HD 6320 alongside the anticipated AMD E450 APU. Quiet PC Foxconn Nano: up to 40 times smaller than a standard PC
The company Foxconn, a leading manufacturer of electronics and computer components, announces the release of the quietest nettop line NanoPC. Two new models of AT-5250 and AT-5600 is based on the Intel Atom platform, and AMD Brazos, respectively. New items consume only 15 watts in standby mode and about 24 watts under load, is absolutely silent thanks to passive cooling.

Minicomputers in the past have attracted much attention because of the compactness (size of new products – only 190 x 135 x 38 mm), low power consumption and low cost. Foxconn engineers reworked the design nettop to use the new cooling system, and now they got one more advantage – no noise, because inside there is no fan. The choice of memory and hard drive (supports 2.5 “hard drives, and 1,8” / 2,5 “SSD) is still the user, both models come with free slots.

To communicate with the outside world, each computer is equipped with two Foxconn Nano-port USB 3.0, four USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI and VGA for display graphics, card reader 5-in-1, Wi-Fi adapter, 802.11n, interfaces for headphone, microphone, and linear output. The package includes a standard mounting VESA, through which the nettop can be mounted on the back of the monitor or TV.

Inside the Foxconn AT-5600 is a processor AMD Brazos E450 (1,65 GHz) and a graphics chip Radeon HD 6320 – this model is suitable for home media center and keep silence in the room. Foxconn AT-5250 uses an Intel Cedar View D2550 (1,86 GHz) with integrated graphics Intel GMA 3650 – a good choice for server, network hard drive or office computer.

Foxconn AT-5600 AT-5250 will be available in the CIS in September with an estimated retail price of AT-5600 will be only $ 280, AT-5250 – $ 260.

Galaxy S3 Explosion was a fake! Samsung Calls Foul Play, Owner Admits !

After the whole Galaxy S3 explosion story went all over the world, Samsung went ahead and investigated the issue, it turns out the explosion was actually a way for the owner to get a replacement. After Samsung and a Third Party investigation was concluded it appears that the explosion occurred as a result of “external energy” being applied to the device, not anything from within the phone itself. The original poster dillo2k10 has posted an update on Boards.ie, indicating it was a mistake by someone else in an attempt to recover the phone after it got wet.

Fire Investigations UK  reports on finding that the phone itself was not responsible for generating the heat that caused the damage. So now owner and potential buyers can breathe easy.

Microsoft applies for a High Performance Touchscreen Patent

Microsoft Recently demonstrated a high performance touchscreen prototype, that would reduce the touch lag of a device from 100ms to 1ms. Microsoft has filed a patent protecting its endless research on the subject.

The Effect of touch response lag once reduced will bring the experience of touchscreen devices to a brilliant level. Instead of a laying line , users if drawing on a touch screen tablet, will experience almost no lag as if the ink was coming from the finger.

Micrososft may throw these screens into future Microsoft Tablets, if they do, expect them to be superiorly responsive.

Amazon may be planning a Smartphone

If popular media company “Bloomberg” is to be believed Amazon is planning a smartphone to be launched this year. Amazon is apparently already in pursuit of wireless patents and a production agreement with major OEM Foxconn for manufacturing the said Smartphone.

No further details on the matter are available, although Amazon is very capable of delivering a smartphone to the market, with their ecosystem already in place, the App Store, the Cloud services, the Music streaming and Kindle. The only thing you can be sure of is, that if Amazon does make a Smartphone there is almost a 100% chance that it will be an Android ICS 4.0 or Jelly Bean 4.1 device and it is likely to be skinned by Amazon to match the Kindle Fire UI.

Is Microsoft Testing a New Keyboard for Windows Phone 8

According to several reports and a bunch of leaked images, Microsoft may be testing a special arched keyboard for use with Windows phone 8 devices. A keyboard that makes typing with one hand/thumb easier on touchscreen phones.

This special arched keyboard surfaced due to a leaked Microsoft Research presentation and appears to be a one-handed soft keyboard for Windows Phone 8 that Microsoft has been testing for a while now.

There are no keyboard replacements on the Windows Phone interface as of now, so a keyboard of said nature might be welcomed well.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean comes to HTC One X – Unofficially

An XDA user “tgascoigne” has been able to port Nexus Jelly Bean to the HTC One X and has made it available as a ROM on the XDA website. With a lot of things currently not working. Including Wifi, Radio, Audio and Camera the OS itself is very stable and can be felt including those greasy project butter tweaks.

The ROM is originally based on CyanogenMOD and the developer states that he seems to have found a fix for most of the errors and bugs and is in the testing phase.

Once the radio and wifi do get working, expect a full hands on from iGyaan, till then check out the screenshots below and if you are feeling the excitement then rush to the link below to give it a try yourself.
