Xbox turns 10 years old to celebrate console superiority.

Ten years ago on this date it all began, The Xbox was born and it brought mayhem to living rooms all over the world. The original black box with a PC processor and wires running awry was a direct competition to all existing brands out there. In 2005 the Xbox 360 was launched which is still one of the strongest selling consoles in the market, boosted by Microsoft’s release of the Kinect interface last year.

There are already reports of the Xbox 720 in the loom ahead, Hopefully the console can live upto its name and deal with the strong beating its gonna get from the competition, namely Sony.

Microsoft has already started seeding the Mango 7.5 builds of Windows phone to existing device holders.  The company’s eager to do a much more efficient job , considering they wern’t able to do it properly during the NoDo update.

As far as supported devices go, According to MS almost all phones are covered in their update schedule. The new update brings over 500 new features and additionally allows users to install apps from third party developers without the need of sideloading them. Microsoft confirmed that Internet Sharing — the long-awaited mobile hotspot functionality — will not be available for existing devices. According to Microsoft’s official Windows Phone Blog, the Windows Phone 7 Mango Update should be available to all existing WP7 devices within another week or two. The Windows Team indicates it won’t be pushed to your phone OTA when the time comes, so you’ll need updated versions of the Zune for PC or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac installed on your computer.

Looks like this time around the Update may come out the same day, unlike with No-Do when it was over several weeks.

  • HTC is working on a Windows 8 Tablet

HTC is working on a Windows 8 Tablet

According to industry insider Eldar Murtazin, HTC is working on a Windows 8 slate that will be powered by a Qualcomm-built ARM chipset. HTC is usually the first vendor when it comes to portable OS launches from Microsoft. As was the case during launch of Windows Phone 7. Now HTC is possibly going to be the first manufacturer to run windows 8 in tablet form. The only difference here is that a large mass of PC vendors/manufacturers (the likes of Dell, HP, Samsung, Lenovo, Tosiba, Asus, Acer, MSI)  that have the hardware equipped to run Windows 8 tablets already have their devices to boot.

Many tablet PC’s may emerge industry winners when it comes to quick boot Windows 8. Now if someone would port windows to our cheap Touchpads…..!
