Nokia’s Augmented Reality app from Symbian called “City Lens” has appeared on Lumia devices for trials. Almost LAYAR like interface, the app allows you to check in real time the points of interests around you, like eating joints etc.
The app is only available for Beta testers so you will need to register as one if you are itching to try it on for size.
Always wanted to use your iPad to print report and what not? The new updated Netgear Genie App allows you to do just that. Available for both Mac and PC the app while running on the Computer will convert any attached printer into an AirPrint Printer.

Future owners of the Samsung Galaxy SIII can expect upto 50GB of free cloud storage thanks to the tie-up b/w Samsung and Dropbox for the said offering. The free storage will remain valid for two years, similar to the 25GB upgrade from Dropbox + HTC for its One X users.
Uberly popular iOS app “FlipBoard” has made it to the Samsung Galaxy SIII as an exclusive for a couple of months before the app is released to the Android Google Play store for the public gestation. According to various sources, the new upcoming Facebook iPhone messenger will have inbuilt Skype/video chat integration, to allow you to video chat with online Facebook friends. What’s more interesting is the fact that the company is supposedly working on a dedicated app for the iPad, since they have got huge back-appeal for the sloppy in-built chat in the iPad app.

The Mac App store, apps for macintosh computers, has reached a total of 10,339 apps. Considering that most mobile app stores crossed this number in first few weeks, this may seem as a low number. But, considering the platform the number makes it the largest desktop app marketplace.
In December, the Mac App Store passed 100 million downloads making it the “largest and fastest growing PC software in the world”. There’s a new version coming this Thursday, the 26th of April. It’s been called Precise Pangolin version is 12.04 and it follows the tradition of Ubuntu versions being named after animals. The version 12.10 also got its name and it will be called Quantal Quetzal which may come later this year.
Ubuntu 12.04 brings a lot of improvements to the mix including enhanced support for trackpads, and trackpads with buttons integrated into them. When FourBros Studio launched a free game called Taptitude on the Windows Phone Marketplace, they never expected the popularity to skyrocket. The game, as of today, has earned the company over $100,000 in revenue and boasts more than 300,000 users.

Talk about big acquisitions! Social networking giant Facebook will buy popular imaging app Instagram for $1 billion in cash and shares. This comes soon after the app was developed for Android.
We think the fact that Instagram is connected to other services beyond Facebook is an important part of the experience. We plan on keeping features like the ability to post to other social networks, the ability to not share your Instagrams on Facebook if you want, and the ability to have followers and follow people separately from your friends on Facebook.

Facebook to Acquire Instagram
MENLO PARK, CALIF.-April 9, 2012-Facebook announced today that it has reached an agreement to acquire Instagram, a fun, popular photo-sharing app for mobile devices.
The total consideration for San Francisco-based Instagram is approximately $1 billion in a combination of cash and shares of Facebook. The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close later this quarter.
Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, posted about the transaction on his Timeline:
I’m excited to share the news that we’ve agreed to acquire Instagram and that their talented team will be joining Facebook.
For years, we’ve focused on building the best experience for sharing photos with your friends and family. Now, we’ll be able to work even more closely with the Instagram team to also offer the best experiences for sharing beautiful mobile photos with people based on your interests.

The new 1.0.3 update for photo popular app Instagram is out. This new update allows users to move the installation of the Instagram app to the SD Card allowing for a much lower space requirement and larger handset compatibility. The new update also adds support for Tablet installation and and wifi only devices that seemed to have been left out earlier.

Apple has not hesitated to close the loophole that allowed to Flashback trojan to penetrate the Apple OS X system. The Update which is 66.6 MB patches the venerability and fixes those computers that have already been affected.
As reported earlier, the Flashback Trojan managed to infect hundreds of thousands of Macs worldwide. The majority of the infected machines – 350,000 are in US; about 125,000 are in Canada and 75,000 in the United Kingdom
