Offering a lot of the same features that are offered in the Full Desktop version, the mobile version is quite in the scope of the usability aspect. Including the ability to view your location, search nearby areas with suggestions and auto-complete, get directions for driving, transit, biking, or walking, view different lays, view Place pages, and access your starred locations.
The native iOS app does not store Starred Locations/ or show them for that matter.

Microsoft finally revealed more information on the first service pack for Office 2010. The Office 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is set to released to manufacturing (RTM) and available for all by late June 2011. The announcement was made at TechEd 2011 at Atlanta. Both Office client suites and SharePoint server products will have the SP1 released, initially via manual download from the Download Center and from Microsoft Update, before been pushed through Automatic Update within 90 days of release.

Despite early reports that Rovio would release Angry Birds for Windows Phone 7 on 25th May . Microsoft said on Wednesday that the game won’t launch until June 29th. The reason for the delay has not been mentioned by Microsoft. But it seems that Microsoft is launching major titles through May and june and don’t want the title launches to clash.
Google has confirmed the recent ClientLogin issue that left the Android OS vulnerable to impersonation attacks. As we know, Google really loves their OS and has alread stared rolling out a Server side fix for the issue and should cover all Android users in the next 48 hours. On the other hand, Calendars , Contacts and Picasa accounts are still vunerable Phone-side and need to be updated to OS 2.3.4 to be eligible for a fix that Google has included in the update.
The funny thing is that in most parts of the world, Especially in India, a majority of Android users are on 2.2 / 2.1 or even lower, and these users will remain exposed to the security flaw.
Nokia’s OVI store and OVI services including Maps are headed for a major rebranding. Beginning in July and August, the Finnish firm will rebrand its Ovi products under the “Nokia services” Label.

Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity, for current subscribers, on PS3 and PC

Increased Security Measures
As the result of a criminal cyber attack on the company’s data-center located in San Diego, California, U.S.A., SNEI shut down the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services on April 20, in order for the company to undergo an investigation and make enhancements to the overall security of the network infrastructure. Working closely with several respected outside security firms, the company has implemented new and additional security measures that strengthen safeguards against unauthorized activity, and provide consumers with greater protection of their personal information.
The company has made considerable enhancements to the data security, including updating and adding advanced security technologies, additional software monitoring and penetration and vulnerability testing, and increased levels of encryption and additional firewalls. The company also added a variety of other measures to the network infrastructure including an early-warning system for unusual activity patterns that could signal an attempt to compromise the network.
“I’d like to send my sincere regret for the inconvenience this incident has caused you, and want to thank you all for the kind patience you’ve shown as we worked through the restoration process,” said Kazuo Hirai, Executive Deputy President, Sony Corporation. “I can’t thank you enough for your patience and support during this time. We know even the most loyal customers have been frustrated by this process and are anxious to use their Sony products and services again. Mr. Sakai will lead the recruiting effort in finding a new and permanent CISO for SNEI. As CISO, Mr. Sakai will report to Tim Schaaff, president, SNEI, as well as to Mr. Shinji Hasejima, CIO, Sony Corporation.
“While we understand the importance of getting our services back online, we did not rush to do so at the expense of extensively and aggressively testing our enhanced security measures. The restoration of the services across the Americas, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Middle East are beginning, and consumers will be able to enjoy some of the online functionality provided by both the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. Phased restoration in Japan and other Asian countries and regions will be announced in due course. The company expects to have the services fully restored by the end of May 2011.

Waze. The new social navigation app which provides you with real-time traffic updates as well as turn-by-turn navigation. The app is really fun to use and comes with a host of features. Since the maps are crowd-sourced, they’re always up to date and accurate in areas where google maps fail. The social aspect of the app comes from its ability to create local traffic groups, which help all drivers in the group by providing traffic updates, accident reports, speed trap data etc.
The app is more of a game than a navigation app as it has a PAC-MANesque interface that has little dots that your car can gobble up while you drive, you also have toffees that appear from time to time for extra points. If you’re in an area where there are no maps or the maps are wrong, you can re-map them by switching to dozer mode, which turns your car into a bull-dozer so you can pave your own road!
