  • OnePlus 6 Leaked In Live Images

OnePlus 6 Leaked In Live Images

OnePlus has had some of the most successful smartphones in India. From the OnePlus One to the OnePlus 5T, the price to performance ratio of OnePlus devices has more or less been spot-on. Even though the OnePlus 5 received some flak for a shaky camera and design too similar to the iPhone 7 Plus, it was a great smartphone for the price. With the OnePlus 5T, the company moved on to a modern design and introduced Face Unlock as well. However, greater things are expected from the OnePlus 6 and a new leak has revealed some interesting details.

Leaked images of the OnePlus 6 reveal that it will have some resemblance to the iPhone X. While the iPhone X and its notch was met with scepticism at the launch, it has, since then, become a feature a lot of other smartphone makers have imitated. The OnePlus 6 will also have a notch on top which will house the earpiece and camera. However, unlike other smartphone makers, OnePlus could use the notch to house extra hardware for a much safer Face Unlock system that could essentially replace the fingerprint sensor.

    Apple
    iPhone X Notch

To the back of the smartphone is where things get interesting. It looks like the OnePlus 6 will finally have a glass design which means it could introduce wireless charging as well. Although, OnePlus has conceded that DashCharge is much better than wireless charging. The dual-camera setup looks uncannily similar to the recently launched Galaxy S9+ as well.

The leaked image shows that the smartphone is running on Oxygen OS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

    Specifications and speculations:

The smartphone has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, which looks like the base variant of the OnePlus 6. OnePlus has been using similar RAM and storage combinations from the launch of OnePlus 3.

The smartphone might have a 6.2-inch display with a higher screen to body proportion. Similarly, the notch houses the main earpiece, front-facing camera and a LED flash unit. Similar to the OnePlus 5T, the company might implement the face unlock using the front-facing camera.

    Conclusion:

Applying OnePlus’s two smartphones a year philosophy, the OnePlus 6 is expected to launch in June. However, this might just be a prototype, which may not make into the final production stage.

    Samsung Galaxy S9

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display with a 2960 x 1440 px resolution. This translates to an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, which means it is slightly taller than the usual bezel-less smartphones.

Depending on the market, the Galaxy S9’s chipset will vary. For the US and South Korean market, the S9 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are the first-ever smartphones launched with the new flagship chipset. For the rest of the world, it will be powered by the new Exynos 9810 chipset. The Galaxy S9 also has a dual stereo speaker system tuned by AKG and Dolby surround sound.

The Galaxy S9 has a single Dual Pixel 12 MP sensor with dual /1.5 and f/2.4 apertures. In bright lighting conditions, the camera will use the f/2.4 aperture, while the wider f/1.5 aperture is used in dark lighting conditions. It also captures 720P videos at 960fps and 4K videos at 60fps, similar to the Apple iPhone X. On the front of the smartphone is an 8MP camera with an f/1.6 aperture and records 4K videos.

    Samsung Galaxy S9+

As is with its smaller sibling, the Galaxy S9+ has the same screen size as the Galaxy S8+. It sports a 6.2 inch Super AMOLED display with a 2960 x 1440 px resolution.

Under the hood, it will either be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset or Exynos 9810. This will again depend on whether it is being sold in the US, South Korea or rest of the world. Unlike the Galaxy S9, the S9+ will be available in 6GB RAM/64GB storage, 6GB RAM/128GB storage and 6GB RAM/256GB models in major markets across the world.

  • Samsung Galaxy S9 Could be The Fastest Android Phone In India

Samsung Galaxy S9 Could be The Fastest Android Phone In India

Samsung launched the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ at MWC 2018.  However, the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ will come with two different processors. The Korean and US variant will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and the rest of the market including India will feature Exynos 9810 chipset.

The performance difference between the variants with different chipsets will be very negligible. In fact, the Exynos powered Samsung Galaxy S9 leads show by scoring points on the synthetic benchmarks. In fact, in some platform, the smartphone outperforms the Apple iPhone X.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ are already available for pre-booking. However, the company hasn’t confirmed the price.

The Exynos 9810 is a true upgrade over the Exynos 8890 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The Galaxy S9 leads the Android benchmark territory, which throws away the 2017 flagship smartphones out of the ballpark. However, the Galaxy S9 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is expected to perform better than the Exynos variant.

  • Samsung DeX Pad Features And Specifications

Samsung DeX Pad Features And Specifications

If you are planning to get the Samsung Galaxy S9 or the Galaxy S9+, then Samsung DeX Pad is a must-have accessory. The second generation DeX Pad comes with added features compared to the original iteration. The Samsung DeX was launched along with the Galaxy S9 and the galaxy S9+ at MWC 2018.

However, do note that the Samsung DeX is not included in the retail package. Instead, one has to buy it separately. As of now, there is no information on the price tag. However, the last generation DeX Station retailed at US$ 100, which is expected to remain the same.

Here are the top 5 features of the Samsung DeX Pad:
Using the smartphone as Keypad + trackpad

This is the newest addition to features that were missing from the original DeX Station. With the Dex Pad, you can use your smartphone as a keypad or trackpad. However, you can also connect an external keypad (wired or wireless) using the dedicated USB port. However, when you are on the go you will appreciate precision trackpad.

    DeX Pad

    Connect to external display

The USP of the Dex Pad is the ability to connect it to an external display or projector. In fact, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 chipset can drive external monitors up to 2560 x 1440 resolution. Be it an official presentation preparation or binge-watching your favourite Amazon Prime show, your experiences will be escalated.

    Backward compatibility

Samsung has also promised that the 2nd generation Dex Pad will also support older Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, and Note 8 smartphones. However, the company will push an OTA update in the future to enable the same.

    Multiple ports

The Samsung Dex Pad offers one USB type C port, two USB type-A port, and a full-sized HDMI port. Using this device, one can connect additional peripherals like external hard discs, pen drives etc. With the DeX, you will get a fully fledged PC experience. However, the DeX Pad misses out on the ethernet port.

Powered by Samsung Galaxy S9 charger

The DeX Pad needs to be hooked up to the charger via USB type C port to work. However, it will not work with any USB type C charger but the output ratings are in line with the power required for the DeX. Similarly, the smartphones also get charged up when it is connected to the Dex.

  • Apple iPhone X Plus Display Image Leaked

Apple iPhone X Plus Display Image Leaked

A leak claims that the upcoming Apple iPhone X Plus might have a 6.5-inch edge-to-edge display. The overall design is similar to that of the original Apple iPhone X. The tipster claims that these photos have been obtained from LG facility in Vietnam. The tipster also claims that the poster is the part of “production equipment trail run”.

This also confirms that the Apple will source the OLED displays from LG rather than Samsung. Though the screen digitizer found on the display offers a bigger form factor. However, the notch size remains the same.

    Apple iPhone X Plus

What to expect from 2018 iPhone lineup?

2018 will see three new iPhones being launched at the Apple annual launch event. One of them will be the 2018 iPhone X, iPhone X Plus and an iPhone X SE. Interestingly, the naming of the upcoming smartphones suggests that the successor to the iPhone SE will indeed be a large iPhone that has design elements similar to the iPhone X.

Kuo claims the 2018 iPhone X will again start at US$ 1000, the iPhone X Plus will be priced higher (likely US$ 1200-US$ 1350) while the iPhone X SE will be priced at around US$ 700-US$ 800.

The iPhone X 2018 (tentative name) will have the same 5.8 inch OLED display found on the current iPhone X. It will have a 2,700 to 2,800mAh battery, supplied primarily by Unimicron. The 2018 iPhone X will also be powered by a new chipset and is expected to feature advanced Face ID.

    2018 Apple iPhone
    iPhone SE 2 Concept

The iPhone X Plus will have a 6.5-inch OLED display in a body that might not be much bigger than the iPhone 8 Plus’. It is expected to have a 3,400 to 3,500 mAh battery supplied Unimicron.

    Apple iPhone X SE?

The Apple iPhone X SE will be the successor to the original Apple iPhone SE. The iPhone X SE will have a 6.1 inch LCD display with a design similar to the iPhone X. This means that Face ID will be introduced in this smartphone as well.

The iPhone X SE will be powered by the latest chipset, just like the iPhone SE was. However, unlike the 2018 iPhone X and iPhone X Plus, it won’t feature wireless charging. It will also miss out on 3D Touch.

  • Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s Specifications Leaked

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s Specifications Leaked

Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s will be unveiled in China on the 27th of March. A new live image of the smartphone has surfaced online, which sheds some light on the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s. In fact, the leaked image doesn’t say anything new, but it re-assures the already available information.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s might be the third smartphone after the Galaxy S9 and Xperia Xz2 to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The specifications of the device are in-line with the other flagship smartphones of 2018.Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s

    Specifications:

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s has a 6.01-inch 2160 x 1080px IPS LCD display with a corner notch. The main difference between the original Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is the placement of the front-facing camera. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 didn’t have a notch. However, the front-facing camera was placed on an unusual bottom right corner. Similarly, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s’s camera is on the top right corner, which is an ideal place.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Like the original version, we might not see a dedicated micro SD card slot or a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The device has a dual camera setup with a 16 MP primary sensor. However, there isn’t much information on the secondary sensor.

The smartphone will run on Android 8 Oreo OS with custom MIUI skin on the top. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s has a massive 4400 mAh battery with possible support for Quick charge 4.0.

    Conclusion:

One thing remains unclear about the smartphone despite the leaked image. The live image misses out on the tiny notch, that we have seen on the previously leaked press renders. Considering the specifications, the Mi Mix 2s looks like a great prospect especially with Xiaomi’s pricing strategy in mind.

  • BlackBerry Ghost To Launch In India Soon

BlackBerry Ghost To Launch In India Soon

BlackBerry has launched a few interesting smartphones since moving to Android OS. Devices like the KEYone with a full-sized keyboard was a great prospect for people who still craved for a physical keyboard but, also wanted an Android smartphone. The company has also launched touchscreen-only devices like the Motion. However, people found the device to be lacking anything extra for it to be a success.

    KEYone

So far, the smartphone maker has stuck to an older design but, things could change soon. There are three organisations that have the license to build BlackBerry-branded smartphones. While TCL/BlackBerry and BB Merah Putih have released BlackBerry handsets, Optiemus Infracom hasn’t. It now looks like Optiemus Infracom will finally release its own take on a “BB” smartphone and it could be the most exciting one yet.

    Leak

Evan Blass, a famous leaker has posted an image of the BlackBerry Ghost. He also mentions that the Ghost will be launched in India, without mention any other details. According to the image, the Ghost will have an 18:9 aspect ratio and thin bezels. There is only one image that Evan Blass has posted and no other details about the build and camera have been revealed.

    Conclusion

While BlackBerry was one of the most sought-after smartphone brands back in the day, things have certainly changed. The company has released a few interesting devices but, never hit the ground running. Maybe, a new design, stock OS and the company’s own security features will spark an interest in the Ghost. Also, it would be interesting if the company names it the Ghost.

  • Huawei P20 Live Images Leaked

    Huawei P20 Live Images Leaked

It is now confirmed that the Huawei P20 will be launched in France on the 27th of March. However, one thing that is not clear is the main camera setup on the Huawei P20. Until now, most of the sources predicted the existence of triple camera setup.

The company had a big banner at the MWC 2018 on the Huawei P20 product launch in France on 27th March, which gave us an insight into the triple camera setup. So, we might see a Huawei P20 Plus, which might sport a triple primary camera setup.

However, a new leak from the tipster @evleaks confirms that the smartphone has a dual camera setup, not triple camera setup. In fact, the presence of the notch has been confirmed on the live image of the smartphone.

    Initial findings:

The Huawei P20 runs on Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box with the custom EMUI skin on the top. Similar to the Honor View 10, the smartphone has a front-facing fingerprint scanner. The smartphone has a three-sided bezel-less design with a notch on the top.

Due to the placement of fingerprint scanner on the bottom, there is a substantial amount of bezel at the bottom. At the back, there is a LEICA branded dual camera setup similar to the Huawei P10. The camera setup is placed vertically, similar to the Apple iPhone X.

    Expected specifications:

The smartphone is expected to have a 6 inch 2160 x 1080 px IPS LCD display with a notch on the top. Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 970 Octa-core chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. However, we might also see a plus version with OLED display and 8GB RAM.

The smartphone is likely to house a triple lens primary camera setup with RGB + wide angle + telephoto lens combination. On to the front, the smartphone is likely to have dual camera setup. In fact, the dual front-facing camera can aid the facial recognition system as well.

    Conclusion:

In a recent interview at the MWC 2018, Huawei CEO confirmed that the Huawei P20 will be more powerful than the Apple iPhone X. In fact, the device has a lot of similarity to the Apple counterpart.

  • Moto E5 Plus Leaked Ahead Of MWC Launch

Moto E5 Plus Leaked Ahead Of MWC Launch

A new Motorola Moto E5 Plus smartphone leaked online by the tipster Evan Blass. However, this time it is an E series device rather than the G series device. At the first glance, we couldn’t make much of difference between the two. This is the first smartphone from Moto E lineup with the premium glass design.

Interestingly, the fingerprint sensor will be housed inside the Moto logo on the back. Rumours predict that the company might launch the upgraded Moto G6 and Moto E5 series at the MWC 2018.

    Specifications:

The Moto E5 Plus comes with 5.8-inch 1440 x 720px IPS LCD display with 2.5D tempered glass protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an unknown quad-core chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB onboard flash storage.

The mobile has a primary camera setup with dual camera cutout like the recently leaked Moto G6 lineup. However, it just has a single 13 MP primary camera and an empty cutout. However, on the front of the smartphone will be a dual camera setup of a 5MP primary sensor coupled with a 2MP depth sensor.

The smartphone is expected to run on nearly stock Android 8 Oreo OS. In fact, there were rumours of Motorola adopting Lenovo’s custom skin for its upcoming line of budget smartphone. That, however, does not seem plausible.

    Conclusion:

With the launch of 6th generation Moto smartphones, the is getting ready for the bezel-less frontier. However, as this is just a leak we have to wait until official announcement for the detailed specifications. Moto E5 Plus looks great with the modern design. In fact, it might contend with the Honor 9 Lite.

  • Samsung Galaxy S9/ Samsung Galaxy S9+

Samsung Galaxy S9/ Samsung Galaxy S9+

After weeks of multiple leaks, Samsung has launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at an event in Barcelona. The design, specifications, and a lot of the features were leaked ahead of the launch. The Galaxy S9 is priced at US$ 719.99 for the unlocked version in the US. However, the starting price of the Galaxy S9+ is US$ 839.99. The smartphones will go on sale on the 16th of March globally. In India, the devices will be launched on the 6th of March and go on sale on the 16th of March along with the rest of the world.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and its bigger sibling, the Galaxy S9+ succeeds the Galaxy S8 and S8+ as the 2018 flagship phones. Unlike the previous generation smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have more differences than just the display and battery sizes. Samsung has made the Galaxy S9+ a bit more feature-packed to justify the higher price tag.

Subsequently, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ look extremely similar to their predecessors. The bezels are slightly thinner but, it is hard to differentiate between the two generations, at least from the front. To the back of the devices is where you see the difference. While the Galaxy S8 and S8+ were two of the most successful Android smartphones of 2017 and were lauded for their looks, there was an issue with the design.

Due to the decreased bezels, Samsung had to move the fingerprint sensor to the back of the phone. However, the execution left a lot to be desired as the sensor was placed next to the camera module. It looks like Samsung took the criticism into consideration. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ come with a fingerprint sensor placed below the camera module. This is a much more ergonomic placement for a rear-facing fingerprint sensor.
