App a Day: MicDroid for Android

Hi Guys,

Today we decided to review something fun for you. Here’s MicDroid from the Android Marketplace. Its a audio recording software which auto tunes your ‘be-sura’ voice into a one hit wonder. We had quite a lot of fun while playing with this app. It can provide random entertainment while your waiting for a bus or a train or in line for your movie tickets.

App a Day: Times of India

We’re starting a new section to review apps from various mobile app marketplaces. These will include the latest and best releases from Android, iOS and Windows Phone 7 Marketplace.

Todays App is the Times of India App.

This particular app is a portal for the Times of India website on your mobile device. Reading news and staying up to date with current events has never been easier. It features many sections to segregate news for easier reading. You can customize what news you receive on your front page and you can also download news for off-line viewing.

The app also shows a nifty live Sen-sex ticker in the top right corner and has a separate section for Photo galleries and Video news. The only feature we thought was lacking was a citizen journalist section to report news as it happens live around you. All in all this is a must have app for your device to keep yourself up to date with the changing world around you.

iG Exclusive : Micromax Bling 2 Leaked Images- Android 2.2

After the much hyped rumors of the Bling 2, we have it here folks, an exclusive iGyaan leak of the device. The successor to the super successful Micromax Bling Q55, a popular phone with the ladies. The new device is said to have Android 2.2 a capacitive touchscreen, and a whole new candy-bar form factor, that will also appeal to the metrosexual male.

We were in a cab coming back to the office from the airport and we found the handset in the back seat, with no sim card installed. We asked the cab owner and he claimed to have no information on the handset. We have already contacted Micromax to return the device. (but only after a full set of tests ;) ) .

Update :

We can confirm that the device runs Android 2.2 and will have Wifi Hotspot.

The Unit we have is still a prototype as the earpiece grill is missing.

The phone dialer does not work on the prototype currently but the camera looks good. The device also does not mention the megapixel of the camera but we are trying to investigate that.

The device is extremely solid and the touchscreen is smooth.

Ralph Lauren gets Tech Fashion with Solar Powered Backpack
Ralph Lauren has just launched the Fashion Geek trend of the year, Pictured above (and below) is the latest backpack from the POLO brand owners collection. It features a full solar panel which can charge up your smartphone in a total of about 2 hours in sunny conditions. The backpack itself is completely waterproof and has several pockets. The panel generates a constat 3.45 watt current.

DIY : Motorola Milestone 2.2 Froyo Update now Available, Defy also gets quick Update
According to a reader the 2.2 update for the Motorola Milestone is now available.

To get the update
- Update to the latest version of Motorola Phone Tools
- Go to the help menu and select Phone software update
- Select India in the country selection
- Then select the Milestone in device selection
You should now be able to see the update and start the process.

According to the same reader there is also a quick update for the defy, but its not a Froyo update.
